He tries to calm himself down as he stands to greet the pair.

As his eyes meet Rivan's unwavering stare, he struggles to choke down his fear.

Elliot looks into Rivan's eyes again, but finds himself glancing away a mere split-second later. The awkward blushing has faded away, a pink tinge to the tips of his ears is all that remains.
"Hi Lucy..." he replies to the young girl, looking up at her.
"Rivan..." he acknowledges more softly.

"...What do you mean bodyguard...?"

Elliot chokes at the word 'noble', a sudden spike of fear running up and down his spine.
Little beads of sweat begin to form on his pale forehead and he swallows, his mouth dry.
"Noble" he whispers under his breath. Flashbacks of his father begin to distract him.

He shakes his head to remove the memories, one hand gripping the other in a painfully tight clutch.
"...Why can't you walk?"

Elliot wipes away the sweat on his forehead.
"No, I'm sorry. It's not you. It-... I... I don't talk about it."
He breathes out softly. "That's an unfortunate circumstance... Rivan seems like a nice person" he nods gently in his direction.

The wind picks itself up and streaks through Elliot's blond, almost white, hair. He tucks it behind his ear and sits down. "Perhaps it'd be more comfortable for him if he sat down too." Elliot's eyes lock on to Rivan.

"I brought a sewing machine with my luggage" he gently tugs on his own sleeves.
"But... it looks cute on you."

He pauses and coughs "No, sorry. I didn't mean it in that way - Uh. I just-" he looks down into his lap and rubs his fingers across his warming cheeks. "You've already talked to the headmistress. That was a stupid thing to say. Forget I said anything."

Elliot checked his watch, it was getting late, or rather early.
"What dorm are you in Lucy? Shall I walk you back?" his stare falls upon Rivan.
"Are you two in the same dorm?"

He looks up into Lucy's eyes and smiles at her for a while in silence before pacing towards the door of the rooftop.

He holds it open and waits for the odd pair to pass him by, shooting an uneasy expression towards his luggage sitting in the corner at the top of the stairs leading downwards.

Elliot's uneasy expression softens at Lucy's words.
"Thanks Lucy..." He smiles at the younger girl, one hand absently rotating the silver ring on his right hand forefinger "Yeah, I guess I'll take you up on your offer then."

He shoots a quick look at Rivan "You don't need to bother about my luggage, I can handle it. You look occupied anyway." An unsettling feeling hovers over Elliot who still appears mildly uncomfortable with the taller man. He discards his next sentence, his consciousness making him worry about whether that sounded rude. "Thanks though." he quickly adds.

Elliot unclasps his fingers and moves towards the luggage. He throws the shoulderbag across his body and slips his hand into the handle of the suitcase, the sharp contrast of the black leather making his fingers seem even paler than usual.

Elliot smiled but kept the grip on his suitcase all the same. His blue eyes surveyed Rivan's body after Lucy's comment, his stare sweeping over the other man's strong arms.
Though Elliot was pretty sure that he was the oldest one here, as a certain air of constant maturity surrounded Elliot beyond all of his childish shyness, within Rivan's quietness seemed to lurk something deeper; something hidden. It made his fingers tingle when he thought about it, it made him aware of the blood pulsing through his veins.

As his eyes trailed upwards, they met Rivan's, snapping Elliot out of his stare. He flicked his head away immediately and with a cautiously exhaled breath, he began to jolt down the long staircase.

Elliot flinched at the foreign sound of the deep, male voice - Rivan's voice. He flushed once again, a soft red colour and he turned away as an unsettling feeling began to grow from deep within him. How could Rivan see through him so easily, when Lucy was yet to notice anything? Elliot pushed out a breath from his clenched teeth, looking back at the pair when Lucy spoke.

Her voice was airy and calming in comparison to her male companion. However, Elliot chose to brush off Lucy's light-hearted comment. He looked in the general direction of Rivan as he replied 'No, nothing' in an oblivious manner.

Perhaps it was the domineering air that surrounded Rivan which made Elliot's weaker personality cower in guarded panic.

"No, of course not." Elliot looked up at the taller man, for a second his eyes froze on Rivan's as if to prove himself but soon they dropped back down to greet the floor.
"And I have no secrets to hide, my 'soul'... is not guarded" he whispered in a softer but more on-edge voice.

A chilling silence began to fill the otherwise empty staircase as Elliot's words faded into nothing and his memories began to flood in. An image of his father flashed in his mind, the words he had spoke before Elliot had left to go to the school, the first words he had heard from the man in 2 years; 'Are you finally leaving?'.

He suddenly snapped his head upwards and gazed at Lucy. "Sorry, I think I'd better go find my own room." With a frightened but steady clench of his fists, Elliot began to once again gather his items.

Elliot froze on Lucy's words and stood up straight.
"It's not you I have a problem with."

Elliot had finally realised the reason why Rivan made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. The reason why he wasn't able to look in the other man's deep secretive eyes, the reason why whenever he spoke, lightning struck through his thin body. Rivan reminded Elliot of his own cold father.

He looked up at the pair again, focusing as always mainly on Lucy. A slow chill began to tickle his fingers, sweat escaping his palms with every pulse of his heart. Rivan was special, dangerous, different.

Elliot stood very still, like a deer in front of the headlights of a car; stubborn or scared? He could feel his own heart beating in his chest, a dull thudding echoing through his mind.

With a deep breath, Elliot looked away again.
"My father. You look like that man." he whispered softly to Rivan.

Beads of visible sweat began to form on Elliot's white forehead, nervous and terrified anxiety bubbled beneath his rib-cage and he felt the metal on his suitcase begin to melt.
With a shocked gasp that snapped him out of the thought, the black suitcase thumped to the ground and, as the lock was melted, burst open with little resistance. Out of the black leather case, bundled in layers of Elliot's clothing, a human skull rolled out.

Elliot hadn't spotted the skull yet, he stood in an oblivious manner with his eyes focused on his red hot palms.

Elliot's head flicked downwards, past his fingertips. His eyes fixed on the skull and a look of extreme pain crossed his face. He couldn't pick up the delicate bones without destroying them with his fingertips. An angry clench of his fists brought hot tears to his eyes, they evaporated as soon as they passed his firey red cheeks.

Elliot snapped his head to Lucy as she spoke, bubbling in absolute anger which, like a suffocated fire, slowly began to die down. More tears streamed down his face as frustration began to sink in to replace the anger "Lucy... Please help me..." Elliot gestured to the skull on the floor, both of his hands held upwards with palms open; the bright red glow to his skin made him look more demon than vampire.

Elliot slowly fell to his knees. Kneeling at the skull, he leaned forward and pressed his forehead to the ground, making sure to keep a safe distance from it so as to not damage it. His hands still hovered by his sides, open fingered to cool down.

Slow tears tricked out of his closed eyes as he whispered a name "Jamie."
He looked up at Lucy "Help her."
"Jamie, are you okay?" he whispered again, turning back.

Elliot didn't answer instead he picked up his head and pressed his lips to the skull, kissing the white bones gently. He seemed to forget the pair in the room as he drifted into a memory of the dead girl...

"Elliot, Elliot!! There's a dog in the back garden!"
I looked up at Jamie, her hand wrapped around mine and interlaced their fingers. It felt sticky, but warm. She starts running and I trip unexpectedly. She stops and without laughing, picks me up on her wide back and keeps running.
"Look! It's over -..."
She never finished that sentence, I looked up. The dog was lying on the floor, sleeping. Jamie's father stood next to it holding a knife...
Jamie was crying.

Elliot stopped crying, Jamie was sleeping like the dog. It was fine. He shook his fingers one more time and picked up the skull, cradling it in his pale arms like a mother would protect a baby.

Elliot looked at Lucy as she spoke, his eyes were zoned out and paler than ever. The usual light blue now looked transparent and gave Elliot a terrifying sort of quality.
He seemed to be out of it, no sounds affected him as he sat still holding the skull.

(I'm sorry, let me change a bit) A loud crash from outside made Elliot look up in shock, he dropped the skull and as it hit the floor, he seemed to regain himself.
He swallowed and shoved his belongings quickly back into the black suitcase, looking terrified.
He grabbed the suitcase's metal handle and got up to run.
"Aagh!" He screamed and dropped it again, the hot metal burning his left hand.
