So, Im looking for something where a male MC is brought to another world/dimension/timeline/something, and doesn't like to kill people, but ends up having to kill someone, whether this makes him break down, or he bottles it up, but it still f***s him up, etc, anything like that is fine, but it has to be significant, he has to have a problem with killing, and not want to, but has to. The show in its wholeness doesnt necessarily have to be dark/psychological/etc, but if it is, that's fine. I would prefer there to be some romance in it, but that doesn't have to play a major role/focus in the show.

Any genre/setting is fine except yaoi/yuri or H.

Thanks for any help with this/

Could Tokyo Ghoul fit that category?

I mean the main character doesnt want to kill, he has some stuff happen to him. There is one brief couple in the anime and there is an implied interest, and it deals with the morality of decisions and how they impact both sides. It is rather short sadly, but it does have a lot of interesting ideas.

Also, for the second poster BLake,

The show Neon Genesis Evangelion could also work. But, In my opinion, it is a letdown after episode 20, just personal preference.

i feel like the best anime that fits your description is tokyo ghoul, its aboutt this worl where people called ghould only source of food is human fesh and the main chracter kaneki ken is turned into a half ghoul half human, and how he trys to deal with it (trust me on this he gets MESSED UP)

Trigun

is also very good and has a lot of nice themes. I find it to be better than tokyo ghoul but tokyo ghoul is very good. Tokyo ghoul shows the internal struggle more than trigun, but trigun is a classic. It also has a very good underlying plot.
