@Pyang: Officers help manage and enforce club rules when necessary. They can also report certain events that may take place within the club. Admins have the ability to edit the club's details, ban members, etc. However any desired changes still require permission from the owner. That is probably the only thing that sets the Owner and Admins apart besides having the Creator the the one who made the club. (The one about Admins and Officers needing permission from the Creator isn't really a rule found in every club, but it's good to have if you don't want your club to suddenly change against your liking without any explanation or something like that :P)

I hope that answers your question!

@Bob & Star: Regarding Pyang's becoming an admin, it's mainly because we go way back. Like way back to when TME was still small, but growing. It's also been about a day since he's been an admin here. You could say he "leveled up" before this club was even created. This doesn't mean that you two don't have the potential ;3

It really just came down to how long we've known each other and how much we trust each other knowing that we can take care of the club when one of us is absent.

How about we actually do start deleting threads that people don't reply to in 7-10 days?
if something is really irrelevant to the club people will probably let it die anyways.

The club ideas thread should be for stuff that admin support is necessary for.
Things that people might want sticky'd for example.
Like club-wide events or something

Right now having to ask for permissions from Jaymusta everytime is really only going to serve as a discouragement for members to make threads

which is bad.

the short answer,

We should not.

But we should have the decency to trust our own members.
Right now we're punishing everyone just because what some retard might do.

I trust that most of our members won't start posting porn anywhere they want
just because they can.
If someone does then the thread gets closed by an admin and they're issued a warning
or just ban them outright.

@Bob-kun, naw. That thread, why would you even wanna delete it. It gets dead but it comes alive from time to time. Doesn't matter, which is why we shouldn't delete threads with such an easy-going format.

Its more for really random ones. And its not like we don't trust our members, we are friends with them LOL. It just about moderating. Since its gonna be be messy if its just random people making threads in le club.

So for starters, its totally random to just make a thread when its fine in the randoms no?

consider changing your perspective a bit.

And it's not an easy-going format. Set a timeframe, stick to it.

If we make it an actual laid out thing then it'll actually encourage people to really participate in the threads they care about.

You mean if theres a specific thread where they can talk ne? Well. That would be fine but most of the non-permission threads made are all pretty random with just normal comments.

I can change my perspective, but the perspective I have now is the most logical for this op :3

A timeframe will cause pressure for the person who've made the thread if they don't want it deleted. Speaking of your thread, you spent time on it and even tho its not as active, its still a good thread..

//edit: well you agreed to the *if* it was inactive for so.

I mean forcing people to talk in a certain thread is the worst thing we can possibly do.
Pretty random with just normal comments are fine. People forget about them.

Your -most logical- perspective isn't making life any easier for anyone.

The better perspective is one that does.

Proposal:

Club ideas thread should actually be for Club Ideas, meaning club-wide admin backed events and actual suggestions for the club, not threads.

We make a point that all non-sticky threads inactive for 2 weeks are deleted.

The pros of implementing this:

1~"dead threads congesting the club's discussions section. >~<

..or random threads that don't really relate" are actually dealt with in a meaningful manner.
How do we define threads that relate anyways? I think anything that interests even one of our members relates to the club.

2~People are less discouraged to make threads that interest them and invoke discussion.

example: If Shinai-san knew that she has to ask for Jay to make her "Show your handwriting" thread, I honestly don't think that thread would've existed.
Yet Jay left it alone, meaning he would have. Just the notion that you need to get approval to do something discourages doing it. Let's avoid this.

We aren't forcing them LOL. They choose to talk in the threads if they want to.
Your -better perspective- is a mere assumption to avoid the better logic.

Your pros are good. At least give it a con or its totally bias ne?.

Plus deleting, those threads like that can result to remaking the thread. E.g Moe Giggles~ , Moe Moe Music!!! ~((>ω<))~ , etc.
So, again, theres a pressure. "we need to post here to keep this thread, else the content in the thread will be lost" (e.g the music, art, pics). That proposal therefore, approves this

Then sticky those threads.

Yes, I am biased. But not because I didn't like the cons.

And you just saved the work for me and listed the cons for me.

And so what if people remake threads?
You say it like it's a bad thing O.o

Content Lost? yes. That will be an issue.
But how much do we actually care about content from 2+weeks ago?

We can sticky the posts that should never be deleted

And I'd much rather we lose content that people haven't cared about for 2+ weeks than to
discourage new content to be created that people care about right now.

I hope you guys don't mind me posting here, but I have a couple of ideas.

1. A sticky thread that lists all the legitimate threads (that was we can sort them into groups according to topic) and delete inactive threads. If members wish to have their thread made permanent, they contact one of the staff.

2. More mods. More topics means we need more mods to make sure they're organised and within the rules.

3. Or, just keep them as is, having to ask does keep spam threads at bay, and is more incentive to post stuff in relevant topics, rather than just creating a new thread. Unfortunately this may be at the cost of more activity within the group.

While I'm here, would I be able to get permission to make my own thread?
Also I like the idea of the Moe Cafe, it's just that it's a little daunting to get started :/
Thanks for making the group, I've enjoyed hy stay here so far :)
