Game 1 we voted on lynch but the top 2 wagons were both townies
Game 2 we lynched the executioner
Game 3 we voted no lynch (cloud was the reigning lynch candidate and I and some others successfully got him off the chopping block, I needed to use a bit of reverse psychology and harsh tactics, though)
Game 5 we lynched the SK
I lied I didn't play in game 4 and I went back to game 1 which we somehow also ended in no lynch. Game 1 was a mess anyway, though. lawl
So game 5 we hit the sk(in a broken setup)

Definitely, so far it seems to have worked out quite nicely in my game. We only included this rule because it's a really lax game, and day one lynching stresses everyone out. We also wanted new players to feel less cautious etc. The thing is, the mafia can't kill either, and this means it's basically an extra day with no chance anyone dying unnecessarily. If you ask me, the investigation will be much more useful to the mafia, and since the game is fairly stacked against them, they kind of need the extra hint.
Yea I skimmed day one. It's definitely an interesting twist. But did you notice how mishu didn't really mind to be investigated? Actually was kinda cool to see that. The interactions were kinda abysmal though and I would have been happier to see more votes and wagon hopping in an actual attempt to investigate mafia.
I still think that investigating mafia for a thread reveal would be redundant however. Considering they're as good as dead after that and pretty much acts as a no lynch. I guess there's info to be had from the votes though. Just seems like it favors town way too heavily. Curious to see how it turns out.

How about voting to lynch during the day time and voting to investigate during the night phase(the town will continue be able to vote to investigate for as long as the Seer/similar role is alive)
I like the idea of voting to investigate but lynching is a necessary feature too even on the first day
I think it may work just simply because it's only for the day one. Still seems to favor the town a lot, though in my eyes. A bit too much.
A separate voting stage for night phases that is just for investigation? I believe that's called a Cop. Revealing alignment in thread based on a majority vote is very non-standard. Mostly because night isn't suppose to take as long and is only for processing actions.
You guys are getting into the realm of creating games that aren't wholly mafia. Which I've been thinking that we could use a change of pace and host a couple games that are more just mafia-esc. Or something completely different. It could be fun, who knows.
