Also I have a couple of animes that are in my mind but can't choose the best one to watch next. If you know a better anime that I would like please recommend.

Great Teacher Onizuka. It's funny as hell, has a decent story line and great characters. I found it amazing and gave it a 10.

Fruits basket and Ouran Highschool Host club. Both are funny, light, and contain romance.

Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou - Have not watched this yet.
Fruits Basket - No romantic resolution ("read the manga" ending) but it was good.
Great Teacher Onizuka - This one is extremely funny. They've ran out of source material though so the last episode is an original and was a bit rushed.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and Special A have a somewhat similar storyline.

I voted for GTO btw.
