| "I heard you playing the piano earlier." Adam said to Evangeline. "It sounded nice." |
| "My mother used to play...a bit. I'm sure Lucas mentioned that though, didn't he?" Said Adam. "She taught me." |
| [My mom's dragging me out for a bit. Be back in a couple hours] |
| "It was a while ago. I got over it." |
| "Well, thanks for the sympathy anyway, but I'm not really sad about it anymore." |
| Adam got up and went to the piano, smiling slightly as he ran his fingers along the keys. "This reminds me of the one we used to have." |
| "Sure." Adam said, smiling. "You like Owl City? I got the music for Fireflies last year...it was one of the last things I played." |
| Adam sat down and after a small pause, his fingers found the keys and he started to play. |
| As Adam played, he thought of the words to the song as well. |
| As the melody came back around to the beginning, Adam kept playing. |
| Adam stopped when the song concluded again. "That became one of my favourite songs for a while..." |
| "Thanks. My dad was never a big fan of the piano but it didn't stop me from playing." |
| Adam laughed slightly. "Yeah, well I never liked selfish people." |
| "Someone who was devoted and selfless?" Lucas interjected. |
| "No point bending our brains over it." Said Adam. |
| Adam left the piano, wandering around the room for no apparent reason. |
| "What's up?" Lucas asked him. "I just feel kind of...fidgety, I dunno." |
| "Reason B that contributed to my original escape attempt." Said Lucas. |
| "Reason A was Alistair being a dick." |
| "He deserves to know what I think about him." |
| "I can't expect you to understand. He's 'your hero', right?" |
| "Well two out of the three of us can agree he's a bastard." Lucas said, glancing at Adam. "Majority says he probably is." |
| "Especially not him." |
| Lucas went back to his drawing, and Adam continued walking around. |
| 'Why do I feel so weird?' Adam thought. 'It's like my body's freaking out or something.' His hands were shaking slightly. |
| "Fine." Adam said a little too quickly. |
