| "It depends on how you want to take it I suppose," Grace said, grunting as Cerberus jumped onto the couch and sat in her. "Dammit, why're you do fat?!" she grimaced. |

| "Maybe you should walk him some more." Masaru said taking a sip of water. |

| Grace tried to shove the dog off, but it only made him root around more. Sighing, Gracce grabbed a cookie and ate. "I'm good. So...have you ever dated someone?" |

| "Hm... Not really, almost once in high school." Masaru said calmly. |

| "Did you like her?" Grace asked. "What was her name? Would she be a choice?" |

| "I really can't remember, I had more important things going on. She moved shortly after I think, or something." Masaru said taking a sip of his water again. |

| Grace sighed. "Another dead end. Can you at least give me one lead?" |

| "Sorry. But it's not so much that I can't remember, more like I didn't pay attention. I didn't have time and I was under a lot of stress." Masaru said leaning back. |

| Grace sighed and closed her eyes. "You do realize I'm trying to help you right, Masaru?" |

| "Then explain it to me. Because I don't understand how getting me to date someone will help anything." Masaru said calmly. |

| Grace blinked. "I wanted to make you happy. That's all I ever wanted for my dad. Every attempt was like a case," she said looking away. |

| "You said he smiled and laughed didn't you? That's not at all how he acted towards others." Masaru sighed. |

| "I usually had to work to get him to do that," Geace said tiredly. |

| "Am I similar to him?" Masaru asked looking up and closing his eyes. |

| Grace smiled. "In more ways than one," she said as she pet her massive dog. "I guess that's a pretty high compliment, huh?" |

| "I'm similar to L, huh? Never would have thought I was." Masaru said opening his eyes. "Is that why you want to see me smile so much? Because you see your father in me?" |

| Grace blushed slightly and shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe if you're like him you can find a girl like he did." |

| "That blush looks good on you." Masaru said mimicking what she had told him in the car one day. "And what about you? You could probably find someone easily." He took a sip of his water. |

| Grace blushed and Cerberus chose then to roll onto his back on top of her. "I-I guess so," she grunted. |

| "So when did you get Cerberus." Masaru looked at her. |

| "He found me actually. I was walking out of a grocery store, and I saw a tiny little puppy sitting on the hood of my car," Grace giggled. "What about Kage?" |

| "Adopted him. He was pretty aggressive at first though, if I didn't take him they probably would've just to put him to sleep." Masaru started petting Kage. "He was an ass even after I got him, but he started to trust me after a while. He'd help me out during work too. In fact I prefer having him to help me than other cops sometimes." |

| "So you two are pretty much the same?" Grace asked as she patted Cerberus' belly. |

| "I guess, though I still have some restraint. He'll bite anyone's head off that he doesn't like if I don't tell him not to." Masaru sighed. "Not really sure where he got that scar from though." |

| Grace sighed and stared at the ceiling. "Now, back to you...maybe if we got you on a case with another girl you two could hook up like my parents," she smirked. |

| "How many female detectives do you know who like the abrasively silent type?" Masaru sighed. |

| Grace shrugged. "There are plenty." |

| "I suppose that means I get to go through another portfolio." Masaru said rolling his eyes. |

| "No, because I'd have to include myself. And I can't get involved with coinvestigators," Grace said, completely oblivious to what she said. |

| Masaru sighed. "You have no idea what you just said... do you?" He said looking at her with a blank expression. |

| Grace groaned and shoved Cerberus off of her. She took the cookies and put them away. When she was done, she started typing away at her laptop. "Slip of the tongue I'm sure." |

| "Whatever you say." Masaru yawned and leaned back, closing his eyes again. |

| Grace's eye twitched as she clenched her jaw. She huffed and walked into her room with her laptop. |

| "Seems like I pissed her off." Masaru said looking at Kage. "She really does have cat-like mood swings." He sighed and started to pet him. |

| Grace quietly typed away at her laptop as she worked on a few extra cases. Then she started going through orphan files from Wammy's. She had four or five kids she enjoyed visiting, but she couldn't take them all even if she wanted to. Sighing, she started up in more files to make herself focus. |

| Masaru checked the messages on his phone, sighing. "She worries way too much." He said to himself, starting to text the other person back. "We aren't going to die. We're going to kill them and go back." He put the phone away and started petting Kage again. Shortly after, he got a call from Zero. "That was fast. This kid may know what he's doing after all." He went and got his gun, and then passed Grace's room. "Grace, I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back later." He then walked towards the meeting spot. |

| Grace's worry radar shot up almost instantly. What the hell was she? His wife? Well, technically their aliases were married, but that gave Grace no right to get all worried. Standing, Grace searched through an online cookbook and started making random desserts of all sorts. They were going to need a lot more groceries. |

| Masaru eventually arrived back at the Chateau and walked through the front door. "Seems like our job here is almost done." |

| Grace jumped slightly but relaxed when she realized it was Masaru. She was busy stirring up filling for a cream filled cake she w making. Even now, desserts were sitting out everywhere. "Where did you go?" |

| "To meet Zero. The Kira's are going to die soon." Masaru said sitting down on the couch and checking his pistol, making sure it had a full clip and was in top condition. |

| Once Grace was done filling the cake, she put it in the oven and got into a women's black suit. The suit was modified to hold several firearms as well as a few knives and her badge. "I'm coming." |

| "You know how to fight?" Masaru asked looking at her. |
|
| "Why does it matter?" Grace asked as she started working in a mouth piece to camouflage her voice in the field. |

| Masaru sighed. "Just don't die. Anyway, according to Zero they're planning on getting married soon. He's going to track them and tell us where. They'll be distracted and it'll be the perfect time to strike." |

| Grace sighed. "Kind of ironic really," she said as she stared at a dagger in her hand. |

| "It's our best option, we can't be sympathetic. They're a threat, they need to be eliminated." Masaru said coldly. It was times like this where he seemed more like a Shinigami than Rin. |

| Grace smirked. "I never show mercy," she said as she bit into one of the fresher batches of cookies. |

| "Good." Masaru said blankly. "Just be careful, we don't know if they have any other 'friends' that know how to fight." |
