If the only answer to your problems is "need(ing) more alcohol," you need to rethink your life.

As for me, I've had 21 years worth of crap stuffed onto me, and I haven't even had a single drink. Ever. The same goes for every other self-destructive recreational act imaginable.

Well, you could at least do yourself and others a favor and not use the word "emo" like that. It's depressing to even look at your posts because of that... well, that and the whole grammar thing.

Sometimes people drink alcohol just for fun, there is nothing wrong with that.

I've had 2 of those; my last girlfriend HATED the fact that I watched anime, was a tabletop RPG gamer, etc... She thought it was "stupid" "annoying" and "you're just living in a fantasy world".

That was... one of my greater errors of judgment in my romantic past. To say the least.

Well well.... unfortunately that seems to be the wrong approach for getting a girlfriend. If you desperately look for a girl, telling everyone around how lonely you are, no female will come to rescue you. The reason is simple: The girls want to be rescued (well, most of them)....not the other way around.

So the best thing you can do is: Get comfortable with yourself and your life. If you are happy and tell your friends and foes that you dont need any girlfriend in your life because that would just mean less freedom and stress, the girls will come after you like bees after honey. They want to share your happiness. ^^

....not that I am very experienced in things like that, but from my observations over the last few months its definitely true!

MMMhhhh...... Somehow it seems like I cut off the conversation here. ;)

Well, lets come back to the topic of this thread....... which brings us to the question what the topic of this thread initially was. As far as I can remember (too lazy to click on the "First page" button right now) it was about "what can you do to find your ideal partner".

My answer: *give a shrug*

BUT although I dont have an answer for you, I have another question (harhar):

What do you think of "perfume". Is it THAT important for finding "Miss perfect" like my friends always say? Do you think its important to roam every odor-shop in order to find the ideal fragrance?
Personally I dont really care how I smell.... as long as it is not "disturbing" of course. ^^

I never use cologne, and I think I am better off because of it. I think it's lame and gives off the "I'm desperate so I'll try to smell good for you." I also enjoy the natural scent of a woman, not some abrasive, odorous chemical which masks the true nature of her.

Just stay clean, keep your nails trimmed and your face well-shaved, keep your hair looking immaculate, and your clothes sharp (no faded anime/metal shirts, flannel, and torn blue jeans every day!!!) and you will be on your way.

Personally, on dates I prefer to wear black slacks or one of my kilts, and a nice silk button-up shirt- preferably logo-less- with a necklace and my long hair down during the spring/summer. During the fall/winter (my peak mating season), I prefer black turtlenecks, black long sleeve t-shirts, or thin black sweaters with black slacks and a necklace (preferably an ankh or a Sigil of Baphomet- it depends on how much I want to "reveal" about myself).

Let's face it: clothes do make the man (and woman), and it is very important to have an appearance of respectability when meeting a potential mate.

So, in short, good clothing >>>> good cologne/perfume.

Mmmhh....there we have a mismatch. Personally Im wearing a "3 days beard".
I heard the girls like it that way. Could some girls make a comment on this please?

How does hair look "immaculate"? (I didnt even know the word). ;p

I actually need to go fall clothes shopping here soon... can't wear kilts, camo shorts, and goth/industrial band t-shirts/mechanics' shirts forever now can I?

You really don't have to follow "fashion" or be trendy to look good, that's definitely not what I'm saying. Just look nice- way too many otakus seem to think that old flannel, faded jeans, and faded anime/metal band shirts are to be worn every day (and on some otakus I've seen far worse). Believe it or not, most women (even otaku women) don't like that look (gasp)! Like I said, good slacks, nice shoes, some nice turtlenecks, thin sweathers, a nice long-sleeve shirt with a good vest... all of these are great fall clothes.

But, as a rule of thumb, all this depends on the person, your body type, what "vibe" you want to give off. For example: in the fall/winter, I want to give off a "darker", yet somewhat subdued sort of vibe, but I sorta have a stocky, chunky build (I look like Jack Black, essentially). Thus, I employ black slacks, Doc Martin boots, nice long sleeve t-shirts or thin black sweaters (like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRA-SOFT-BOBBY-JONES-NAVY-PURE-MERINO-WOOL-SWEATER-XL_W0QQitemZ220284556241QQcmdZViewItem ). I also like black turtlenecks that are big enough to make me seem slimmer. When I want to be a bit more casual, I wear long-sleeve band t-shirts (like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018E3658/ref=nosim/?tag=shopzilla_rev_5-20&linkCode=asn ) When I want to be a bit more formal, I like wearing a black button-up shirt, red tie, and a black pea-coat with a Sigil of Baphomet lapel pin on my tie.

However, like I said, this is just me. Finding your own personal style is a process of trial and error- but it's well worth it and will help you get far not just with women but with life in general.

In terms of facial hair, it really depends on the person. If you can pull off the scruffy look, a beard, a goatee, etc. then by all means do it. However, such things are not for everyone.

How do you realise that your current style is a fail or not?
Even if there is a girl telling you that your outfit only appeals to woman at the age of 50 and above, this is kind of subjective. Other girls could see this totally different.

@PhantmShado:
Welcome. Make yourself a home ^^

@All:
Another issue running around in my head nowadays:

I just saw "Tropic Thunder" in the cinema and although the movie is not worth talking about, I noticed something that seems to be quite common in US movies:

Guys with glasses are either timid losers or evil

For example in the movie "Tropic Thunder" there is a guy wearing glasses. At the beginning he is rather shy. During the movie his personality changes (god knows why) and at the end he is "rambos little brother".....without glasses! Somehow he lost them and seems to be fine without them.

Think about it. Can you name a movie where a man or woman wearing glasses is not the "bad guy" or an object to make fun of?
This concers me a bit, since people tend to "adopt the attitude" shown in movies and TV.

My Question:
Personally I am wearing glasses all my life. Does that mean I look suspicious to others?
Do I have to change to contact lenses in order to make proper contact to the female world (...love this wordplay)? ^^

A lot of you guys are saying that you cant find girls who like guy that like anime, a lot of girls are way more accepting than you think.Of coarse if you talk about nothing other than anime, I can assure you your possibilities for finding an accepting girlfriend become severly limited. Strive to become a well rounded person and a lot more doors wll open for you.
