Actually Meri I didn't see any of the "I wanna be alone" mentality when I was in Finland.
The people are pretty outgoing and friendly there especially the old people when they meet tourists.
I had lots of fun talks at the market place in some small town.

People are different in different regions. Like for example a guy can wear a ponytail where I live but go down south and in some places you risk a serious beating if you go out late like that.

Its my opinion we never are ready. Think of it as experiment and just plunge in to that lake.
