This is that puzzle in the movie 21:
You are on a game show and there are three doors. The presenter tells you that behind one of doors there is a car and behind the other two are goats. If you pick the car you win it.
After you have picked a door the presenter opens a different door with a goat behind it, he then gives you the chance to change what door you open. What should you do?
Not having seen 21 and confused by your explination, I have copied a full version from wikipedia. The original name of the puzzle is the Monty Hall Problem.
"Suppose you're on a game show and you're given the choice of three doors. Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats. The car and the goats were placed randomly behind the doors before the show. The rules of the game show are as follows: After you have chosen a door, the door remains closed for the time being. The game show host, Monty Hall, who knows what is behind the doors, now has to open one of the two remaining doors, and the door he opens must have a goat behind it. If both remaining doors have goats behind them, he chooses one randomly. After Monty Hall opens a door with a goat, he will ask you to decide whether you want to stay with your first choice or to switch to the last remaining door. Imagine that you chose Door 1 and the host opens Door 3, which has a goat. He then asks you "Do you want to switch to Door Number 2?"
goats are social (they live groups.) so if theres a goat on 3, the other must be beside it at 2?

I haven't seen the movie but if you think a while you can come to an answer.
The first time you choos a door, your chance to get the car is 33,3%
When you see one door open with a goat, your chance is 50% to 50% for the remaining two doors but the first door you choos has only 33,3% so you have to choose the 2nd one ;) the chance is 66,7% that in this door there is the car
Very new Hetalia forum please help to get bigger =)
I came up with a different solution looking at the wording of the problem.
The rules are as follows: the first time you choose, the chances are obviously 33%, as the game show host opens the door with a goat inside, you will get the chance to switch doors. The best option will be to switch doors because according to the rules:
"After you have chosen a door, the door remains closed for the time being.
The game show host, Monty Hall, who knows what is behind the doors, now has to open one of the two remaining doors, and the door he opens must have a goat behind it."
This also gives the possibility to switch doors multiple times, if you choose another door afterwords, you will be given the same circumstances and you will be able to switch again. But if you choose a door that you do not know the contents of, the host will proceed to open the same door with the goat that he already revealed. So switching to a door you don't know the contents of will not make any progress.
The solution to this problem is to just switch to the door with the goat behind it (one that the host already revealed) because you KNOW that it has a goat behind it as your second switch. The host will then be forced to reveal the second goat as a result(because he cannot open the door you are currently deciding on), and you can use your third switch to get the car at a 100% win rate.
