How do you decide what rating an anime gets? Do you factor enjoyment into ratings? Discuss how you rate anime and how your personal rating system works.

My ratings are generally based on a combination of how good I feel the anime is (as in characters, story, animation, sound) and how much I enjoyed it. I don't consider each category equally as sometimes certain ones don't matter for a series and enjoyment often matters more than the others. I also try to make sure that anime I give the same ratings are similar in quality. I use the 1-10 rating system of myanimelist but do occasionally give .5 ratings to certain shows.

Rating a anime is like war. Some people go head on and face the anime as a whole. Some people go at it with at a strategic method and break down the anime. But take out all the enemies in war and conquer the anime. One must lose humanity in war and destroy the anime breaking it bit by bit. That is what you call a true rating scale.
