| Lucas and Alistair arrived back. "Well, home sweet home, right Lucas?" Said Alistair. Lucas scowled but said nothing. |
| "See, I told you there'd be someone here to welcome you back." Said Alistair. He wandered over to the living room and contemplated which kind of alcohol he was going to take out to 'celebrate' his victory. Lucas was silent. |
| "Hello there Angel, lovely to see you. Would you like a drink?" Asked Alistair. [Since she doesn't like her name, Alistair's given her a LOVELY nickname.] |
| "But Angel is SO much prettier." Said Alistair. Lucas just sat down in a chair by the window, watching as the moon rose. |
| "Lucas, would you like one?" "I'm a minor, idiot." Alistair sighed. "I know you're sour right now. You won't be forever." |
| "So, Joshua's hosting a party tomorrow." Said Alistair, pouring himself a glass of whisky and sitting down. "Joshua?" Asked Lucas. "Yes, you know that real estate agent who sold me this place a while back." "Oh." Lucas replied flatly. "I thought we'd go." |
| "Well, you two buzzkills better sort out what you're going to wear." "Bite me." Said Lucas. "Pun intended, I assume." |
| "But it will be fun; there will be drinks, dancing, entertainment..." he grinned. "Snacks." Lucas scowled and looked back out the window. |
| "Good, because you're going to be my date." |
| "Well of course." |
| "Seriously?" Said Lucas. "You're going to drag us along to this?" "I want you to get used to being with me again." Said Alistair. "We used to party aaaall the time. Don't you remember?" "Unfortunately." |
| "Lucas used to Looooove my parties, didn't you Lucas?" "Shut up." |
| "You don't say." Lucas said flatly. "Don't mind him; he'll come around." Said Alistair. |
| "So you are." Said Alistair. |
| Alistair sighed. "You two are no fun anymore." "You just threatened to kill my friends and my brother." Said Lucas. "Howich fun did you expect me to be?" "You know I wasn't going to really. It was just to give you a little judge out the door. So to speak." |
| "What can I say? I like pretending to be scary." Said Alistair. "It's fun." |
| "That is a wonderfully effective conversation stopper you know." Alistair said to Envangeline. "That's because no one wants to talk to you." Lucas replied. |
| "Neither of you have lived long enough to appreciate the fact that you can be anyone you want to be when you live as long as we do." |
| "I know, I look good for my age don't I?" Alistair said, smiling. [To be perfectly honest, Alistair isn't a REALLY bad guy, but he is a vampire and he's old. He's used to old ways and he's used to getting what he wants and to a degree he can't really help that.] |
| "Oh, ouch." Said Alistair, feigning hurt. "I don't know, in a century or two Lucas will still be looking sharp. That is if he can get rid of that scowl." "Screw you." |
| "Well, I don't know about you two, but I'm a little hungry." Said Alistair. He got up and went to the kitchen, coming back a minute or so later with his scotch glass full of blood. He sat down once again and took a sip. |
| "What about you Lucas? Hungry?" Lucas stood up and faced Alistair. "Just stop it okay? This whole 'pretending to care about me' thing. It's creepy and it's false so drop the act." He paused. "I'm tired." He said heading upstairs. "I didn't touch your room!" Alistair called. There was no answer. |
| "It's that werewolf bite I gather." Alistair said, propping his head up with his hand and swirling the blood around in his glass. "He used to be so much fun." |
| "Yeah. He got into a fight with his brother who is a werewolf; would you believe it?" He paused. "Werewolf bites are SUPPOSEDLY fatal to vampires but if they dont kill you they just make everything more sensitive; moods, cravings; it even turns a vampire's general dislike of sunlight in to full blown turn to ashes if you step in front of a window." |
| "Indeed. Well I just want him to get back to being the person I knew him to be." |
