I enjoy watching anime but also feel like I'm pushing myself.

After taking a long break from anime, I started watching it occasionally. Some anime are as enjoyable and easy as breathing. Although I like some, I feel like I'm forcing myself to keep going. I want to watch non-anime series, but I also want to watch only anime. I'm confused. Sometimes I can easily watch 52 episodes, and sometimes it's difficult to watch 12.

Then watch less but better shows, because quality > quantity.

Watch something you actually like, you don't have to force yourself in to watching sth you feel it is not for you or does not like.

You don't have to watch everything, just watch whatever you think that fits your taste and it's all good.

You don't have to sit through something you don't like. There's no shame in dropping a series or putting a series on hold. To avoid anime burnout I try to cycle between watching episodes of anime, cartoons, and live action stuff.

I feel the same way, in high school I was a seasonal watcher as well as binge watching completed shows on the side and now thinking back then I was watching an unhealthy amount of anime to the point I wasnt sleeping because I wanted to keep up, Now as an adult I took a long break from anime during my uni days and after I graduated, it was refreshing to watch anime at my own pace and not keep up with every seasonal anime every year I'm able to focus and appreciate the story more than rush it so its ticked off my list and watch the next one. And I remember as a kid being able to watch 30+ episodes non stop but nowadays it takes me 2 days to finish a 12 episode series. So I relate to this

Everyone goes through burnout eventually, in all types of media. And taste changes. It's okay if you're only into some anime. Watch whatever interests you, regardless of if it takes the form of anime or something else. Don't be afraid to try new hobbies if your usual things aren't doing it for you!
