| No, the message is not literally meant to say they are able to meet. Those last words are meant as a farewell kind of thing. You better give last words that gives hope to your love ones instead of just straight goodbyes. That’s why it was said in a way they would be able to meet. The problem was they cannot. You clearly know the guy came from the future. He will age and die by the time the girl will catch up. The source material, I think I read it in articles somewhere that her aunt was the main character. In this movie, she was not and the movie did not gave enough details about it. And yes, there are a lot of plot holes so I gave it 8/10, since the meaning was still very good |

So maybe they are a century ahead. Then he was alive in a century ahead but a 100 years gap in time is impossible to catch up for the girl to be able to meet the guy. |
