I guess I like them both for their own story being told, it feels like the book gets more in depth for the characters while the movie was easy to watch and just a feel good type of movie with Ghibli animation which is always a treat. I love the way the book is written, the dialogue is great 😌 |

| ^i usually try to complete stuff in one go but sometimes when i need a break from the series i would pick up something light to read as a way to relax and not be burnt out. ot: so i just finished reading slam dunk and it was pretty good this manga has some amazing hype moments and the artwork for the double page spreads is awesome, i also really like how the author calls back to the important moments by having a parallel panel later, like the "don't cry" panel. i didn't like the beginning of the manga because the first serious basketball match happens after 30 chapters which is a lot to get through. i did really like the back & forth between sakuragi and rukawa, it's like they hate each other but gain a mutual respect for one another overtime. i didn't care much for the romance storyline because it was just there to push sakuragi forward that's it, at least his friends were fun though. i also didn't understood the point of the judo club president returning frequently despite knowing sakuragi isn't going to quit basketball. still despite my nitpicks it's an enjoyable series. my thoughts on the ending: |
