To me Hidamari Sketch is the true and perfect definition of a Slice of Life Anime. All the characters are lovable and don't feel all that copy and pasted like most other Slice of Life characters. The Music is super relaxing and fits in with each scene. Also the art style is super cute and WIDE! I would definitely recommend this Anime and the Manga series if you like a super relaxing series to watch.

Whilst the first season was a bit too slow for me, I'm glad I stuck around for the second and third season. The jokes are a bit more numerous later on, and the character interactions more interesting, The latter episodes being some of the best. It's kinda annoying because if like to recommend it more but I don't wanna say 'season 1 is kind slow, but stick it out it gets Wayyyyy better'.

I personally am not enjoying this not because it's "too slow" but because of the comedy delivery.
I just don't find much of it funny, it's too much like one of those people from 2000s internet that would try too hard to be "funnie and randum" but in anime form. Also I'm not a fan of the animation style, it feels like they are trying to cut corners but trying to pass it off as "artsy".

Was thinking of not even bothering with the second season but I went and looked at the first episode after reading your comment and I might try it now.
First of, I was shocked when there was ACTUAL ANIMATION! and the humor doesn't seem to rely so much on forced randomness.
Though I'm confused as why it's labeled as a sequel, as it seems to actually take place before this season...

@Kristiwazhere Hidamari Sketch x365 is an interquel. Hidamari is a non-linear anime from seasons 1 to mid-season 3, with the first episode of S2 being the first chronologically.

Also yeah, animation improves with each season, now that I recently finish the whole anime, I find season 1 to look quite terrible, even the "1080p BD" looked poor and blurry. I have been also watching Shaft's anime and they do try their best to cut corners with animation, with Hidamari S1 being one of the series with the lowest budgets I have ever seen. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei S1 suffers from the same problem.

Oh, if the "1080p BD" one was from the same source that I saw I'm convinced it's just 720p upscaled, lol.

@Kristiwazhere Even without the blurriness there was also some chromatic aberration which I heavily doubt could come from a mediocre upscaling. Did your source have that too?

From 365 onwards it looks like it should look, though.

I don't remember, I only like watched one episode from that version and then switched back to the 720p one.
