The fact that it decided to masquerade as a remake was cool, and definitely a fun curve ball for people who're already familiar with the series. But tbh... doesn't that kinda jack some stuff up for newcomers? I see people online watching Gou who aren't really familiar with the first couple seasons, and I guess it's weird knowing that Gou itself plays a huge part in their confusion and self spoiling by deciding to pretend to be a good gateway/starting point into Higurashi.

I guess by the time someone realizes/is told its not a remake though, maybe it's their own fault if they decide to keep watching without first seeing at least Higurashi s1 and Kai..

Anyone else have mixed feelings on how Gou decided to present itself or am I just being salty cause newer fans aren't experiencing the show the way I did? :')

Disclaimer: The quality so far isn't problem at all, from what I've seen, they're doing a good job. This is just a question of presentation.
