Ch. II Love at First Sight!
As the morning, rising sun hit me and I woke up to it. Expecting myself to be partially frozen to death, let alone starving and needing for a healthy breakfast. I got quite a bit of a surprise. I woke up to find of course the fire to have died out during the night but to find a warm blanket over me, a typical picnic basket, and some extra fire wood. I was shocked and yet also disturbed. I was worried that the goblins may have found me and took pity on me and instead of raping me in the middle of the night. Had food and blankets laid out for me. Then again it could have been someone else, maybe someone who lives near here the lake and found me. I had to find them to thank them.
I removed the blanket so that I could try and get the fire going again and got another surprise and kind of weird state. I found my foot to be covered in leaves and something all over it. It turned out that my foot was covered in mixed herbs used for medical reasons. "Great, so it turns out that I'm in the feudal era of Japan, possibly. What's next, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Shippo, and Sango show up?" The herbs that were used to make medicine must have came from certain herbs used to reduce swelling that my foot had been doing so after it broke, but I still needed to see a doctor but that had to wait later.
I used the fire wood that had been left for me to get the fire going again and I tried the same thing last night. "Igni," but nothing happened. I tried it again but still nothing happened. "Great, back to square one." I put the wood in the hot coals and blew into them to get some heat going and sure enough it worked the fire was lit again. I warmed myself up to the fire and gathered the basket. I also noticed something else. There were some new and warm clothes under the basket in a package. I took the clothes and it was a komono set. A black komono to but the question was. Would it fit me? There was only one way to find out.
I removed my old clothes and set them to the side and changed into the komono. It was just a tiny too long but did fit well. Then again it may have just been me since I never wore a komono before. I then went through the basket and found some wrapped meat, some fruit, a loaf of bread, and a pitcher of fresh water. I observed the food and the water to make sure it wasn't laced with poison or drugged in case if this was a trap set by the goblins to try and win me over. It appeared to be fine. The meat appeared to be cooked so I placed it in two slices of bread and dug in. It was tender and had a nice flavor to it, though it would have been nice if I had something to warm it up with but this had to do for now. I then dug into the fruit. It was a mix of berries and some pineapple. It appeared to be fresh and was good as was the water.
After I had finished my breakfast. I used the tree to try and stand up and put some pressure on my foot and while the swelling had indeed gone down. I was still unable to walk on it and it still hurt worse then a bee sting. I then sat back down and in doing so slid and about fell on my face when something caught me and helped me down. I then heard a soft hiss, like the hiss of a snake. I gulped and knew exactly what had just broken my fall and what was wrapped around my waist and I heard it.
"Careful now, you've already broken your foot. Your face is the last thing that we would want you to break now would it?"
I heard the female voice giggle and then it twisted me around and I gazed up into the tree and much to my shock. My fears were confirmed for the morning suns rays hit the tree completely and I stared at a freaking lamia. I knew a lot about ancient mythical creatures and aside from the succubus, the lamia was my second favorite legend but this was no ordinary lamia oh no. I knew what she was with her green reptilian skin and hair, her purplish skin and the markings on her, the green and yellow serpents that she carried around her, her long nails which were actually claws, her fangs that I saw in her smile, and her pupil slit, golden iris. She was the mother of legends, the Mother of All Monsters, an Echidna.
This was not good and my short term time here so far was getting better and better by the minute and I ain't talking about in a good way. She slowly slithered her way down the tree and made her way over to me and of course, got on top of me. She smiled and ran her hands up and down my chest as she slowly wrapped her serpent-like body around us. Yes, she was wrapping herself up with me. However; at the end her tail wrapped around my broken foot and started squeezing it, causing excruciating pain.

She started laughing at my incompetence. Her tail couldn't break because it had no bones in it at all. I felt stupid for asking such a question. "My dear, I like you. Despite your incompetence, you have a fun sense of nature. I think I might keep you."

She then looked at me again and had a lucid look in her eyes. "Don't worry; I won't devour you right away. It's been ages since I last had sex. I'll bring you to Heaven before I devour you. Then, rising out of the lake was what at first appeared to be a Lady of the Lake in the classic King Arthur and Merlin story but was far from that, for rising out of the lake was another of the lamia tribe but this one was different. Her hair and reptilian skin was pure white like a perfect diamond and as was her body. She also wore a komono like mine but it only covered her top half and unlike the Echidna. Her face appeared to be frail and sad. Her skin was the same color as mine and she had deep sea blue eyes. She stared at the Echidna as her hands glowed with what appeared to be a blue flame and spoke.
"If you're looking for the one who just ruined your moment then you're looking at her. While you were busy interrogating the goblins that had pursued him. I took care of him while he slept and was returning with more herbs and medicines to nurse his foot and would have made a proper introduction, but then I find you trying to seduce him and take him against his will. Such is the custom of you Echidna's."
[color=blue]"So it was her who brought me the items during the night and placed the blanket on me to keep me from getting cold during the night,"[/color I thought. I was grateful for her and wanted to thank her but we had to get rid of this Echidna first.
The Echidna in a fit of rage then launched herself at the lovely white lamia but only to get caught in a trap, for she used what appeared to be water magic to engulf her in a giant ball of water. She then carried her into the middle of the lake and about 10 ft high and released her. I watched the water disperse and the Echidna fall into the lake. A minute later she slithered out of the water and slithered off somewhere in a rage and screaming.
The lake then returned to normal and the lovely lamia whom saved me came out of the lake as I attended to my foot to make sure that it wasn't further damaged but alas, it was. "Damn it, that bitch Echidna did further damage to my foot."
The white serpent with a bag in hand came over to me and spoke. "Let me see it. You're right, it appears." I groaned as she felt around my foot. "Sorry! It appears she might have also dislocated the bone as well. I can't heal it in this condition. If she hadn't done further damage I would have been able to heal the bone completely and I'm inexperienced with putting bones back in place. I'm sorry!"
I looked at her and noticed that she started to cry. I felt bad for her for I was willing to bet that the bag that she had carried in it more herbs and medicines that would have allowed her to heal my foot and she did so much for me already. I reached up to her and wiped away her tears and spoke to her.
"It's alright, these things happen. What matters is that you returned when you did my lady and I'm grateful for that. Thank you!"
She then smiled and touched my hand. I smiled right back at her and noticed that her once frail and sad face had turned into a face of joy and happiness. "I'm Ryu, Ryu Ahra!"
"I'm Kindra, it's nice to meet you Ryu."
We talked for a little bit and Kindra filled me in on where I was and how I may have gotten here. According to her for some unexplanatory reason. Humans are somehow transported here through magic when this world has need for them and that this world is infested with Mamono's, a.k.a. monsters with mainly female, humanoid forms but said that there are some rare male monsters as well. She mentioned that the world was divided into three countries known as; Odyssey, Purgatory, and Riviera, which was the country that I was in.
She also confirmed that it was indeed her that brought me the food and clothes. We were able to dry off my kamono with a new fire and was able to place more ointment on my foot to keep the swelling down. She was a master in normal medicine and with her healing powers as a water master but my foot remained in it's current condition thanks to that Echidna.
She even stated that the reason she chose to help me was because well, she had fallen in love with me. It turns out that she is a shriohebi and that whenever they gazed upon a man that struck their fancy. They would right then and there fall in love with him. She at the moment felt like a guardian since she saved me from the Echidna. She stated that she was bathing under the waterfall at the time I jumped in the lake from the cliff and was astounded by it and saw that I was wounded and decided to help take care of me. I was in her debt, twice and knew that I had to find some way to pay her back.
"We should get you back to my village. I know of someone there who might be able to help you with your foot."
"Thanks, Kindra."
We got everything packed and put out the fire and she helped me to my feet. I leaned on her and we headed South with the sun high in the sky. Now that I knew where I was and what I had to expect. I set off with my guardian and broken foot. In set of something that I had been dreading for a long time. A new adventure! |
