The Kidoin Clan is known for producing strong demon tamers, with an emphasis on raising oni. Children are expected to select their first oni early on, and great importance is placed upon choosing wisely. Those who fail to do so risk bringing widespread ridicule on themselves and their branch of the family, or in the worst case scenario, having their demons destroyed. The initial process involves choosing a compatible oni, giving them a name and charmed tool to strengthen the bond, and finally making contract with them.[1] However, more experienced tamers such as Nura Kidoin appear able to command many oni at once without any visible charmed tool.
