Hey guys!
So I'm coming at you with my first manga review in this club. For my first manga review I decided to chose my second favorite manga, Psyren (I wanted to save my favorite one for later). so here we go...

Story: Let me just get this out of the way first: I absolutely love shounen. Something about the badass action and how everything seems to be teaching you to be a better man is just freakin awesome to me. Psyren has one of the most shounen storylines I have ever seen before. Main character, Yoshina Ageha, tries to find his friend who had disappeared. The friend just happens to be lost in a world full of monsters, supernatural powers, and crazily overpowered boss type characters. So, just like any of other good shounen manga, Ageha has to become stronger in order to save his friends and, in turn, the whole world.

Powers: Okay, this is just a subsection but I couldn't leave something as important as this out of the review. For a manga that is solely based on watching the main characters become stronger it is also important that their special abilities are also unique and interesting.
Ageha- So you would expect the main character to have some super OP power straight from the get go right? Well that is only half correct. Ageha's power took a long time to develop but when he was able to gain full control of it, Melchsee's Door just blows away every other power.
Sakurako- The main female character in this shounen manga has an ability called Mind Jack which she uses to jack into her opponents mind... Yup. Her second power is much more interesting. It is called Unnamed Scythe. She basically weaves together all of her mind jacks to form a blade of some sort and when she cuts people with it it makes them think and feel like they actually got cut by a huge scythe or something, even though their body is actually intact.
Hiryu- The second male lead character is pretty much the burly man of the group of mains. He can meld his psy powers together in order to create a freakin dragon which he can either use in battle or use to fly. This one is a little harder to explain but it gives more incentive to actually go read the manga to figure out what his power is.

Art: So the art is something akin to bleach. It is a pretty generic shounen style manga when it comes to art. The fighting scenes are where this manga shines though. Everything in a fight scene is depicted in the utmost detail, it feels like you are actually watching it in motion as if it was an anime. There isn't too much useless talking during battles either, which is pretty amazing for a shounen anime.

Enjoyment: Though during some parts of this manga I got kind of confused as to how certain things happened (especially during the second half), I still enjoyed the whole thing immensely. All the characters are interesting and well developed, the action scenes are amazing, the thing makes you feel badass just reading it.

Rating: 8.5/10

I really, really want there to be an anime for this manga. I just feel like the still images don't do this manga justice. It would probably do well as a one of those 12 episode short series animes... Well, one can only hope.
