Looking for an anime deep with themes

After rolling out of a slice of life and shoujo filled anime summer, with examples like Love Com, Toradora, Ouran, I'm looking for a nice anime with deep themes and the occasional romance like in Eureka Seven/DRRR - anyone have a recommendation?
