Tsukiko sighed as she leaned against the counter of the little convenience store she worked at, pulling a little book out from behind the counter, opening it up in front of her. There was no one in the shop at present and she had already finished going through the shelves and stocking them, so she really had nothing to do. Opening the book, her eyes started to asorb the words on the page, instead. Oh well, maybe business would pick up a little later.

Masaru entered a small convenience store. The main reason he chose to enter this store aside from many others was because it had no one in it. For one he didn't like being crowded by people, and second he would probably draw attention to himself as not many other seventeen year olds wore a long black coat with a hood that covered their eyes. Once he walked in he looked through the shelves for something silently.

Hearing the bell tinkle as the door opened, Tsukiko looked up to see someone in a long black coat and a hood enter the store instantly walking through the aisles in search of... well, whatever he was looking for. She made no move to put the book away or to watch him do whatever he was doing, instead flipping a page over to continue reading. Until he approached her first, either to ask a question or to purchase something, if he didn't bother her, she wouldn't bother him.

Snow didn't respond to Mahiro's statement. As they continued walking, she noticed streetlights began to flicker on. She looked up and noticed that it was indeed growing darker. She realized that they had been walking for a while. "We're not still in the north, are we?" Snow finally asked. Rose, who had been consuming her liquidfied ice cream, shook her head.

"No, we left that section a little while ago."

"Shouldn't you guys be going home already?", Mahiro stated as he saw the streetlights flickering. It was getting dark soon, the girls had an apartment, but Mahiro himself didn't really have a place to stay. He was just going to a hotel or something, every night, this would be his plan.

Masaru continued looking through the isles, eventually seeing some candy and scowling at it, which was mostly hidden by his hood. He looked back to see that Night was starting to fall. He sighed lightly, then grabbed a small bundle of lollipops before heading to the check out desk to pay for it.

"I think you're right. After all, we've had a long day, and I don't want to stay out too much longer," Rose replied. She let out a sigh before turning to Mahiro. "Thanks for coming with us. Sorry about leaving you, but it was nice meeting you." Rose gave a little wave as she and Snow headed back in the direction from where they had come.

Hearing footsteps near the counter, Tsukiko looked up to see the hooded figure approaching the counter. With a small smile, she bookmarked her page and closed the book. "Hello, just these for today?"

She never understood why she had gotten a job at a convenience store. It required social interaction with people and in that area, she extremely weak. All jobs had their fair share of interaction, but sometimes she could barely keep a smile upon her face. Maybe that was why she applied for the job - to improve her interaction skills. From what she could see, nothing was improving. Her shift was almost over and she sighed mentally. At least she wouldn't have to put up with work for the next few days after this shift.

Masaru nodded, however very slightly. "How much?" He asked in a voice devoid of any emotion. Usually people found it very strange and unusual to hear someone speak without a hint of emotion in their voice, especially coming from someone with the uncommon apparel that he wore. If a Sekirei were to be nearby, it would probably be a dead giveaway that he was one as well, however still made no effort to act differently or even crack a fake smile and phony happy attitude and tone.

Scanning the items, Tsukiko glanced at the figure on the screen. "Ah, that'd be 700¥, Sir. Would you like a bag?"

She noticed his emotionless demeanour and the fact that kept to himself, and couldn't help but think of her own childhood. In a way, he reminded her of her younger self, but of course, they were two different people. At least he seems true to himself, she thought. This is why she hated her job. She thought too much about the little things that didn't matter.

"I'm fine." Masaru answered blankly once more as he dug in his pocket calmly for the correct amount of money. He pulled his hand out and gave her the money, making sure not to touch her physically.

He was always cautious like this, if a person were a sekirei, physically touching them could give them an open attack against him, and he didn't much like physically contact at all to begin with. He was also cautious of finding out his Ashikabi. He knew he probably could sense if his Ashikabi were nearby, but if he couldn't for some reason, physical contact would definitely give it away. Ironic since most Sekirei searched for their Ashikabi, while he wanted nothing more than to never discover his.

Holding out her hand, Tsukiko let him drop the money into her palm. "Thank you, and have a nice day."

She observed him quietly while putting the money into the till. He seemed to be very cautious and he didn't seem to like physical contact at all. He probably had his reasons, and Tsukiko had learnt the hard way that being curious would sometimes do more harm than it did good. Besides, he didn't seem like the kind of person who would willingly talk about himself and she wasn't the kind of person to ask. Despite all of that, she couldn't deny that the way he carried himself interested her.

Masaru took the bundle of lollipops calmly. "Thanks." He replied blankly again, taking one out of the bundle, removing the wrapper and popping one in his mouth as he headed for the exit. He noticed that she was observing him, which wasn't that strange to him. Even regular people who had no knowledge of Sekirei or Ashikabi would watch him out of confusion trying to make sense of how he looked or acted. After he got outside and was out of the sight of anyone watching, he jumped up to a building and sat over the edge, examining the streets below him.

She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck. The bell tinkled as he left and she let her smile drop. Maybe she really should try finding another job that didn't require so much talking and smiling. Before Tsukiko could continue her reading, the door opened again and her co-worker entered, relieving her of her shift. They exchanged greetings and he asked the usual: "Was it busy today?"

"Sort of quiet, but nothing new." He nodded and waited for Tsukiko to come out from behind the counter before taking her spot. She headed for the back, picking up her bag and hanging her apron on a coat rack by the door, running a hand through her hair before slipping on her coat. Exiting the staff room, she mumbled a goodbye to the male at the counter, exiting the store. By now it was dark, and the street lamps were lit, some flickering with the effort to stay lit. "Ugh, what did I have to do again?" she mumbled, heading on home.

Mahiro waved Snow and Rose goodbye, only to go the same way they did afterwards. He was first looking around the South of Tokyo, exploring the place. Mahiro didn't have any other reason to walk around, so he walked around aimlessly. Mahiro then just walked back to the North, again, aimlessly.

Tsukiko passed by another male on her way, after changing direction, remembering she had to go to the supermarket, who seemed to just be taking a walk. It didn't seem like he was walking around for any particular reason and Tsukiko thought it a little odd, but pushed it from her mind as soon as it had entered. It wasn't any of her business. Pulling her coat closer around her for warmth, she kept her head low and continued to walk in the direction of the supermarket, mulling over possible options for dinner that night.

Masaru had fallen asleep on the same building he sat on the night before. He yawned and observed his surroundings again. No Sekirei seemed to have attacked him or be planning to attack. He popped another lollipop in his mouth and hopped down. He decided he would simply wander around. Perhaps going to another sector of the city would be wise. Though, I haven't seen the presence of another Sekirei here yet. Since it is peaceful here, staying here might also be best. He thought to himself. He didn't really feel like fighting pointlessly, so he tried to go to areas with few Sekirei to avoid it.

Tsukiko sat by herself on a bench in the local park, having skipped her classes that day to read. It wasn't a habit of hers, but being around her classmates made her uneasy and though she usually kept to herself and no one minded her, she just didn't feel like going today. Besides, the weather was nice, the sun was out and the sky was clear. Taking a sip of her soda, she bookmarked her page and leaned back to watch the rest of Tokyo do their own thing. That's when she spotted him on the side walk, passing the park from her seat on the bench. Isn't he the guy from yesterday?

Masaru stopped as he passed a tall tree. He looked over it before hopping up to a branch high up in the tree with seemingly no effort. He didn't climb it nor did he hop from one branch to the other, he simply jumped right up to one of the highest ones there. He did however seem to care if he was seen as he examined his surroundings after jumping.

Tsukiko watched as the familiar figure jumped into the tree, seating himself on a branch. He must have amazing athletic ability, she mused, opening her book again. Oh well, athletic or not, he wasn't bothering her or anyone around them, so she didn't say anything.

Masaru noticed a woman relatively close to him. Did she see me? No... If she did she wouldn't be that calm, seeing someone jump right to one of the top branches. She's probably too absorbed in that book to have noticed. He thought to himself as he stared at her for a short while. He noticed it was the same girl at the convenience store. Deciding that she couldn't have seen him, he sighed looked back towards the streets.

Stretching as she stood up, Tsukiko sighed and tucked her book into her bag. Pulling her bag onto her shoulders, she pushed her hands into her pockets and started walking out of the park, unsure as to whether she wanted to sleep the rest of the day away or to take a detour to the supermarket.. though to be quite honest, she really couldn't be bothered.

Masaru eyed her as she started leaving the park. He found it slightly suspicious that she started leaving shortly after he had jumped in the tree, though it could've easily been a coincidence, he needed to make sure. There was a chance that this woman had some relation to Sekirei and for his existence to be made known to them would be a nuisance. "Oi." He called out, narrowing his eyes slightly under his hood. "Did you see?" He questioned blankly.

Hearing a voice call out to her, Tsukiko stopped and turned around, seeing that the customer from yesterday talking to her. With a small sigh, she adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder and looked up at him. "Did I see what?"

"Where you a witness to when I got up here?" Masaru questioned again, still speaking in a blank tone and looking at her with narrowed eyes. He hadn't moved from where he was sitting on the top branch only slightly turning his head to look at her.

"And if I was?" Tsukiko didn't see why it was so important to him if she saw him jump into the tree or not. It wasn't like she was going to tell the entire world that she saw someone jump into a tree without using their hands to climb up into it. She didn't really have any friends anyway, who was she going to tell?

"Just answer me, woman." Masaru told her coldly, crossing her arms as he looked down at her. True, he might be being overly cautious by interrogating a random woman. However he truly didn't want any Sekirei finding him and looking for him to pick a fight, or worse, any of his former 'comrades'. And since his apparel was already quite different from everyone else's, it wouldn't be too hard for her to describe him and for other people to spot him.

Tsukiko thought he was over reacting. Just slightly. But he must have his reasons and as long as he didn't hurt her or anything, she wouldn't pry. She sighed again. "I saw. Is that all?"

"Then I suggest you forget what you saw. If you speak about it to anyone it could become troublesome for me and possibly for you." Masaru responded, slightly calmer as he closed his eyes again. He did find it slightly weird that she showed no signs of being suspicious of someone who just jumped straight up to the top of a tall tree. No way any human could do that, and if he hopped to the top of a building the same size of this tree a human would panic upon witnessing it, however she appeared to keep her composure.

Tsukiko shook her head and turned her back on him. "I have no one to tell and what you do is none of my business. Don't worry." Telling people about his athletic ability could bring her trouble? Well, sure it could. From him. But Tsukiko doubted that she would see him again and even if she did utter a word about a superhuman jumping through the city, she didn't think anyone would take her seriously. Though if he remembered the fact that this was their second meeting, Tsukiko had a feeling she would be the first person he looked for if anyone was gossiping about it on the streets.

At the thought of that, she shook her head and walked. She was better off keeping quiet. Now that, was something she excelled at.
