How do you find reading manhwa? How does it appeal to you?

How do you compare it with manga and manhua?
Story and character wise. Popularity and originality?

Anyone?

Personally i like manhwa much better than manga.
Why?
Because of story line and drawing style.
The story is always good at any manhwa,
its so kool..i dont even know how to describe it. :P

and the drawing.
I just like it :D

i find quite difficult to find a manga that i will like.
most of the time if i like the story of it,
then i dont like the drawing style,
or sometimes if i like the drawing style,
i dont like the story.

:D :]

My personal problem is that I love shoujo. I barely read other types. Well, we all know how clicque shoujo can get: stupid feemales charachters, way to weird male charachters and a story that always develops in the same way. These things started to repet more and more often in shoujo mangas, not to mention that the art is way too similar in all of them. Thouse big sparkling eyes and the cute female charachters. I'm sick of it.
In manhwas every author has his personal stile in art. You can't get bored of it, and the stories don't resemble so much like in shoujo mangas.
So yeah, I barely read any manga at the moment, but I'm crazy about manhwas. When I'm going to finish all the shoujo titles I think I'll try the other ones as wel ^^.

When I got to know manhwas exist I instantly fell in love.
I like Korean influence first than Japanese so its perfect.

On choosing what to read, I don't really have a specific type. It all defends on my mood although I certainly prefers Shoujo, Josei, Romance, Comedy and the like.
Light-hearted and easy to understand dialogue. Mind you I get bored with lots of sentences but it's good addition to broaden the story.

I agree that most shoujo manga have the cliche plot, girl meets boy, teacher/student affair, childhood friends, OMG SMUT. LOL. It's kinda tiring having to deal with you-know-how everywhere. Gah! But if you select the type, there's alot decent mangas for you quite the picky reader you would be.

Manhwas gaining popularity due to the fact that it's fresh and way different that manga.
It's like if you look at it, you have a feeling that it's got to be MANHWA!
There's a certain art that conveys their signature style. Shading, less screentones, chibis, minimal sparkle/glowing/flowery effect, realistic eyes, fangirls behave well than in manga, height of the characters are really like on a person. The guy on THE SUMMIT was the tallest guy I've seen so far.

And that's about my opinion. I gotta read 100% Perfect Girl now.
This have been stored on my folder long ago and I still haven't started it.
It sucks that I priorities manga for now and there's like asdfghjkl; manhwa I wanna read.
What's wrong with me. DX
Oh yah, it's a shame that there's not much yaoi on manhwa. My fave of all. D:
Good thing Totally Captivated satisfies my need. Sooo hot. I want more!!! Kyaaa~!
Well, rely on Bellu for some hardcore sex.

See ya. :3

It's good to see that you're not corrupted. Lol.
We do have different preferences. Its that yaoi doesn't work for you.
How old are you anyways?

I have to least read one volume of a BL each day. <3
BoysxBoys action spices up my cravings. ._."

I'm 18. But I think age has nothing to do with one person's preferances.
Not only boyxboy relationsips scare me, but girlsxgirls as well. That's why I love shoujo. I like to suport normal relationship ^^.
Speaking of shoujo-ai/yuri, I don't think I've ever saw a manhwa to inclide in this genre.

Whichever floats you boat. You're responsible on what you read.
I'd like to try various things for pleasures sake.
I don't like yuri 'coz I like men do it instead but it grows on me.
Not my everyday read though. :x

There's a hint of shoujo-ai on Utopia of Homosexuality. :)

Notice that there's ecchi but not hentai.

How do you find reading manhwa? How does it appeal to you?
======>I find reading manhwa not as bad as I thought. It appeals to me in some kind of anicent chinese style of art.

How do you compare it with manga and manhua?
====>Well I haven't much manhwa but I read more manga than mahwa.

Story and character wise. Popularity and originality?
====>I love mostly the story verse the art. But at times it's art verse story. so I'll say BOTH.

Popularity: for now it's 35%. Originality? for now it's 20%

====>I'm still new to reading Manhwa because recently I only brought one called "Magical JxR" and "Totally Captivated." I only read a few manhwa now that I think about it. I mean all I remember reading was Love or Money, Snow Drop, I.N.V.U and there are few more but forgotten.

So for now I can't really say much about manhwa yet.
If I'm no longer replying back, means my life is busy. As simple as that. Will get back as life settle down.
