The animation is fantastic, the design, the character acting, and the world-building are all fantastic.

This whole beginning is original. The part with Dotta running will give a better context about the environment, and the part with the knights gives a glimpse of the demon king's supporters.

2:26 This first-person scene made me jump because it was so good. I already thought that based on the trailers, but after this preview, I'm sure this will be one of the best anime of 2026. 🔥

You can tell they were telling the truth about the characters' understanding and conveying that in the animation.
Dotta, even being chased by a plague of frogs, doesn't let go of the coffin.
When Xylo stabs the frog plague with the knife, he makes a face like he's struggling, but when the knife pierces the plague's skin, Xylo smiles like a psychopath.
These details make me smile.

the animation is a spectacle but the soundtrack "despite the audio being low" seems very good, the two best soundtracks for me were the one at the beginning which gives a good impression of a fantasy world and the last one more specifically when Xylo lands and a choir of voices begins.

It's still too early to say, but after this preview of episode 1, maybe this production will surpass the Mushoku Tensei season 1.

its done so so well, i love that studio kai kept their traditional 3d models of knights lol. i feel like i could always recognize the studio if those models are used

@hypexleaks First of all, thanks for commenting, I was already thinking the forum was bugged.

I imagine you're talking about that isekai with the armored skeleton, I dropped that one, but I remember the 3D being good, and now that you mention it, the design is really similar. Lol

Taking advantage of the 3D topic, in the three-minute preview of the first episode, you can see the 3D of the frog plague. This model also seems to be very competent. But the 3D studio hasn't been revealed yet, as far as I know.

Holy molly that looks crazy good. Never read the manga but I have a great feeling about this show.
Question for anyone who did read the manga, is it heavily carried by just looking cool and doing cool or is there a genuine story, or atleast interesting characters?

@nebulittle The manga has few volumes and wasn't very successful, I read the manga after reading the light novel and found it to be poor, The pacing is similar to the novel, but the monster designs are very generic"The anime has improved a lot in this regard."

Now, about the light novel:

the story is very simple;
kill the Demon King to end the Demon King's plague. It's a bit more complex than that depending on the arc, but overall, it's a generic dark fantasy novel that stands out for its action, "which will be greatly amplified in the anime," and its quirky characters.

The characters are the novel's strong point;
We have ten protagonists who are criminals, psychopaths, or have very twisted personalities, If I were to summarize their personalities without naming names, they would be;
a guy with a "personality disorder," a "kleptomaniac," a guy who solves almost everything through violence, a zombie, a goddess with "Sacrifice Disorder," a short, "misanthropic" bully, an almost expressionless and "ANTINIHILIST" psychopath, a completely useless "mythomaniac," a psychopathic and "verbomaniac" murderer, a tsundere knight, and a Dragon "not the protagonist," totally normal, without any personality disorder. lol

Furthermore, the humanoid villains are also very interesting, one of them being a thinking poet and the other a guy who was forced to be a villain and has "Messiah syndrome" mixed with "thanatophobia" but depending on the number of volumes adapted, the villains may not appear.

from what you can see the characters are at least very interesting but that depends on each person's taste, anyway even with everything I said judging by the authors' comments it seems that the anime will improve the relationship between the characters and I think they were referring to the relationship between Xylo and Teoritta but maybe that will expand to the other characters.

Edit: I'm not sure, but maybe the protagonist Xylo has "survivor syndrome" that makes him violent.

That said, it seems like all criminal heroes have a personality disorder or disorder. lol
