| This one almost managed to sneak by me. Seems decent enough so far. Perhaps a little reminiscent of The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic. I'm not sure why he is insisting on being a Healer when he is actually l33t DPS though. |
| I don't have much in the way of expectations for this show, but I'm enjoying it more than I should. The first episode didn't exactly start off on the right foot as all it did was introduce Laust and Narsena with them going on a quest together even though Laust is supposed to be somebody nobody should be partnering up with, but this episode does a nice job in filling the gaps and explaining the backgrounds. While it's one thing for Laust to be kicked out for being incompetent, the former party putting a target on his back is just overdoing it. And Narsena sought out Laust specifically because he's the one who saved her years ago and that has her training hard as a martial artist. This has some potential for good character development. |
| Wow. As a guy I knew once put it: "In animation, no one's ever impressed with how much money you saved." I swear, half this episode was still frames. The hydra never even moved. The arguments were just lip-flap cycles on motionless people. They used every budget-saving trick in the book, including having all the healing and the litch go really slow to eat seconds of screen time. I hope they're saving it all for some real sakuga later, but I'm not optomistic. |
| Episode 3 And just like in the other shows in which the MC was kicked out of his party, his former party is struggling without him. While Laust lacked skill as a healer, there's a lot more to a healer than that as he made sure the job got done. This is something that's much harder to do with the way Margulus runs the party, and Lyra can't keep up with that responsibility. So Margulus decides he has to bring Laust back, but of course he's not going back as not only does he have Narsena to look after, but Margulus was just too much to put up with. And then Armia comes over asking Laust about what he really thought about the situation. While Armia was supposed to be the one Margulus dismissed, Laust was very understanding. In the meantime, Blades of Lightning has a new member in Sieg, and he's a mysterious fellow seeing that he has Ronaldo's sword and wears a mask to hide his identity, though Lyra sees right through it. This goes to show that Margulus is quite unfit to be a leader and that he didn't exactly think things through in banishing Laust not realizing that there's a lot more to a healer than just skill. |
| They seem really hard up for this hydra which hasn't done anything, hasn't attacked anyone and is just hanging out in the swamp trying to nap in peace. What did it do to deserve this? Mage girl should just join Raust, Screw Mugawhomp or whatever his name is. |

This is my problem with a lot of these adventurer shows. They go places and kill monsters who are not bothering anyone, just to profit off the dropped loot. They might as well be slaughtering rhinos and elephants for their horns and tusks. I know it's just how games are played etc. and the audience doesn't generally question it, but it would help if we could at least have an initial scene of the monsters being evil somehow. |
| I was expecting healer guy to be super op from the title. But I guess it just meant he was the strongest in his old party, not the strongest overall, which is how these things usually go. Also wasn't expecting this new healer to immediately become an important character. So I'll give this show credit for taking some turns I never saw coming. It also just emphasizes how dumb the gold guy is compared to everyone else in the show. The sad part is that idiots like that often do end up with people, who should know better, following them around simply by being the one to take charge and too many people doing the whole 'just go along to get along' thing. I don't think most adventurers would put up with it once they get some real experience under their belt though. This is another one of these annoying shows where the main female character is the least attractive one of the bunch. Not that she's ugly or anything, she just has such a plain looking face--for an anime girl--compared to all the other girls. |

| @HOOfan_1 And helping kill the hydra is only a temporary solution anyway. Leaving gold guy in charge is going to lead to a TPK sooner or later. If they really want to help him they should all go to him and tell him they're all leaving the party unless he let's the healer back in and puts him in charge. |

| Episode 4 Off to fight the hydra they go, and while it's a tough boss, it's one of the easier bosses to fight. But Margulus totally underestimates how tough hydras are and nearly gets Arima killed. But Laust decides to jump in and play the hero despite having a bitter relationship with Margulus, and he transforms into a demon to make quick work of it. Afterwards, Sieg, who is actually an official from the royal capital, finds that Margulus and Saberia were engaging in human trafficking, albeit not being successful in it, and the punishment is normally slave labor for life. But Laust went to bat for those two knowing that they want to be adventurers, but just took a wrong turn somewhere. So instead, those two get exiled and they have a chance at redemption. This goes to show that Laust is a total softie despite his mean reputation, and Sieg is somebody who knows full well about it. |
| Back to bothering the hydra for no reason. It hasn't even left its spot this entire time. It was perfectly content to chill and not cause any problems. But they kill it anyway. Of course the MC had to go Super Saiyan. I guess he's an ogre or something judging by the horn. Blond dude and the rogue took a sudden heel turn there for some reason. Yes they were unappreciative idiots but the leap to selling a child into sex slavery was a weird twist. |

| So...these guys know what to expect of healers supposedly...and he does better than most healers, but even those his simple heal stacked is more effective than advanced healing spells, you kicked him out because all he can cast is heal? Yeah these guys are complete idiots |
| The animation is quite good but the writing is fucking atrocious. Oh and you can spare me the "let them off this time" bullshit. Are we really meant to believe they thought healers tank, attack and stack healing? He was the only one in the party who did damage to it before he was kicked out and this dumbass mage still wants to be in a party of complete moron assholes? |
| What exactly is the guild so busy doing? The primary reason for any guild to exist is to look out for it's members and yet this guy can't be bothered. That should be setting off alarm bells for anyone with some insight who isn't super easy going. I see this is one of those universes where less clothing equals better armor for the female fighter types. |

| Seems like magic has serious restrictions in this world and isn't all that strong if just casting two attack spells in a row is that difficult. | @MenchiK1 From what I gather it's not that she's dying so much as she has to sacrifice herself to put the dragon back to sleep. So she may as well be an adventurer and enjoy herself until that happens I guess? |

| It's actually not that badly written but OMG it drags. And the angles are so uninspired. People dead center in frame, looking directly at camera, all the time. I bet the manga was like that too. And the guild master! Apparently he sits in a dank throne room, on an uncomfortable throne against the stone wall, alone, all the time, except when people bring him messages. By this time he should have rheumatism and hemorrhoids. |

I am also deeply confused as to the layout of this town. It doesn't have walls but it has a gate but its not a gate because there is no actual gate or door its just an archway. But they were able to trap the goblins inside by blocking the gate behind them. They also built a wall in one street out of clothes dressers. All of these fortifications are meaningless because, again, the town has no walls and the goblins can just walk around everything anyway. On top of that the guildmaster takes away 3 of their best fighters in the middle of the fight because somehow glasses guy is going to cover the entire town.  |
