@SPIDEY_rockzzzzz yup... kishimoto probably was inspired by the love square in dragon quest: dai no daibouken (not the only thing he copied and he also copied beet the vandal slayer by the same writer)... but didn't make ns endgame likely because hinata was so popular compared to merle... even the hair colors in marchen awakens romance seems to obviously be inspired by ns

@SPIDEY_rockzzzzz yeah but i at least liked merle to a degree. i'd say the story and ending with the romance went in a better direction with dragon quest compared to the way naruto went so i definitely recommend seeing for yourself in the 2020 remake or the manga. Marchen Awakens Romance was also enjoyable. I'm looking forward to fairy tail 100 year quest
