Episode 11

And now, the queen ventures into uncharted territory here as these events weren't experienced in the game. While Sefec is in the clear, Kemet remains trapped. Val is determined to go down together with Kemet, even going as far as to request Pride to seal off the exit with only himself and Kemet left inside. But Pride comes back, and knowing that Val and Kemet have hidden abilities they don't realize they have that she orders Val to rearrange the cave to save Kemet. Just when it looked like they were in the clear, another attack comes and with Sefec about to fall off the cliff, Val sacrifices himself to save her. And then Val's backstory is explained as he befriends the kids who he would name Sefec and Kemet for their approximate ages, and despite living in the slums they were perfectly content living with each other before the traffickers came. Just when Val thought he was a goner, he was saved by Pride and Stale and teleported to safety. While Val is a criminal, he was in a pretty bad situation and it's hard to fault him for wanting to stand up for those two kids, but Pride knows that they value his companionship more than anything that she will ensure they continue to live on together. One more episode left as Pride figures out what she will do moving forward after everything she has done to steer her destiny away from being the game's final boss.

Can't we go back to some political intrigue or something?

Episode 12 (Finale)

After everything that has happened in this show, it ends with a lighthearted and laid-back episode. Val starts off licking Pride and then asking for his compensation seeing that his family is quite poor. And then Arthur, Gilbert, and Stale have an intense sparring match while Val goes off on a delivery and makes quick work of it. While Arthur puts up a good fight against Gilbert, he has quite a long way to go to reach the level he is at the endgame. And Stale has really grown himself as well. Seeing that this show has only scratched the surface that it is quite an appropriate way to end this show with Pride, Arthur, and Stale promising to protect each other and reflect on everything that has happened.

And with that, it's onto I'm in Love with the Villainess that's coming this fall, and Villainess Level 99 that's coming this winter to keep things going.

Final Thoughts

While this is yet another one of those isekai shows in which the MC is reincarnated as the villainess in a video game, this one definitely differentiates itself from the other ones as it's more story-focused and serious compared to the previous entries that are lighthearted. Nevertheless, the show does a solid job with character development and storytelling, all while the show plays things straight and never tries to go outside its comfort zone. On the flipside, nothing really stood out about this show as the plot progression leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless, it was a solid show to watch, if nothing else to get a more serious take on the otome game villainess kind of isekai.

another Isekai, where the Isekai part became largely irrelevant. The last episode was pretty boring too. It was okay...not great though

I might be mistaken, but the ending screamed season 2 to me. Overall, I grade this as a 7/10.

Honestly they keep making a big deal about the threat that Evil Pride is to the nation but there has been no indications that is even a risk. For all intents and purposes Evil Pride is dead and gone They clearly want us to feel tense about that, but Isekai Pride is a Good Person. Unless season 2 starts with some indication that Evil Pride is still in there and Wants Out, the only real threat I can think of is that mystery group of bombers.

For a show where the central premise was her trying to avoid becoming a tyrant she was never remotely in any danger of doing so.

Even the vague threat of political intrigue resolved when they found out Gilbert was really just misunderstood.

This show didn't set out to do much and didn't accomplish much. This will be another 5/10 in a season full of 5/10's.

The first half of the season seemed to lay a bunch of unnecessary groundwork for content we didn't even experience. Like some of you have suggested, it was probably done for the rest of the story aka season 2. Looking in retrospect it was mostly boring with some good moments, and a mostly boring ending too lol.
