| Machiavellian? Without a doubt. Time and time again, Lelouch uses manipulation, schemery and the sacrifice of many lives to get what he wants. Psychopath? Psychopathy means lacking empathy and the conscience and responsibility to be morally repulsed by one's evil deeds. Lelouch however consistently shows that what he is doing is weighing heavily on him, so he's definitely not a psychopath. Narcissist? I'm not sure about this one. Lelouch does indeed think very highly of himself and can revel in theatralics and hypocrisy, but he doesn't really seem to feel overly entitled. I can't tell very well. If he is a narcissist, he's probably a mild example. |
| I mean the show is about him going the Machiavellian route when it comes to his actions. He’s not a psychopath as he, in the beginning is doing all of that for his sister, but slowly realizes that he wants to do it for the whole world, while also sacrificing himself in the process. He’s also not a narcissist. If you look at the little sol moments the series has, he never acclaims himself as superior to his friends. He does do that when he’s Zero, but that’s because he’s the leader of a resistance and he needs to act big in front of the enemy. |
