| Episode 1 Pretty bone-chilling way to start this thriller. How Reika ended up falling for Nobuto is beyond me as there's not an ounce of charm in that scumbag. But of course, something worse than a bad romance awaits her as that dude is part of a yakuza who is after her grandfather's fortune. And of course, her father Tetsuo is already under fire as he can't contact the police to sort things out. So Tetsuo kills Nobuto and hides his body seeing that all he wants is for Reika to survive. I knew that I was going to be in for a lot of thrills, and in that regard the first episode definitely doesn't disappoint. |

| This looks like something that would work better as live action TV. Suspense drama doesn't usually appeal to me, but I might try out some more of the show. |

| I’m reading the manga and it’s actually really good. It’s a shame that the animation quality isn’t that great. I wish it received the same quality treatment that Heavenly Delusion is getting. Hopefully the story will carry this show. |

| Episode 2 Tensions really get high here as with Nobuto's disappearance that those thugs are putting the family under surveillance. Tetsuo is at least aware that they are being watched, but the big question remains how to deal with it. Making that trip to the gardening store was quite a risky move under the circumstances. The show continues to deliver on the story, but unfortunately it's being dogged by cheap animation and bad production values. Anyway, the parents are in a lot of hot water now as they have been captured and are about to be found out. |

| Not sure what people are complaining about with respect to quality. Seems perfectly fine to me. It does seem like a series that I might think about waiting to binge though...that cliffhanger makes me not want to wait a full week. |

I figured he would chop it up or use lye to dissolve it...seems like trying to use it in a compost think inside is going to really stink. They wrapped it all up, but the decomposition is going to give off gas and the gas would likely burst the wrapping they have on the pot |
| Episode 3 Tetsuo has been captured and taken to an abandoned warehouse where he's being interrogated and tortured as those thugs are determined to get the answers out of his mouth. Tetsuo manages to at least make it look like the doing of some fictitious person who runs a housecleaning service named Suzuki that caused Nobuto to disappear, but not everybody is convinced. While he at least lives another day, there's still one person who wants him dead regardless of whether or not he finds the truth. Tetsuo is surely backed into a corner now seeing that he did kill Nobuto and is doing everything he can to get him and his daughter out of this mess. |

| Episode 4 Tetsuo bought himself a week, but he has quite a lot to think about in order to protect his family, and he has three options he can try out. And that means getting his hands dirty as he just entered a world of violence. He's involved at the center of a transaction between mafia, and then he and Kyoichi get caught up in a violent confrontation. Tetsuo is in quite a tight spot knowing full well that he's being closely watched. |
| Episode 5 Tetsuo just keeps on getting himself backed into a corner, and this time he's forced to shoot a video where he confesses that he murdered Kyoichi even though he isn't dead yet, and the threat of having that video go public is what's keeping him under constant surveillance. So he seeks out help from an old friend in Tabata, who is working in the entertainment industry. He then seeks information by getting one of Nobuto's old phone that he tries to reset the password for, but for that he needs to get the name of his pet, which he had early in his childhood. And then he stumbles upon a guy who just so happens to be Nobuto's father at a bar. Lots of tension here as Tetsuo is being scrutinized more than ever after everything that just happened. |

| Great...the subtitles are screwed up. Last time this happened it took them 3 weeks to fix it and when I put in a customer service ticket they told me to delete the app and reinstall instead of actually doing any work by checking out the episode themselves or escalating it |
| Episode 6 I had to wait awhile to watch this as I came in to watch My Home Hero, and instead I got My Clueless First Hero. So in the end, Tetsuo manages to guess the name of Nobuto's pet, who was a dog he called Cap, which is short for Captain, and is now able to use his old phone. But in the meantime, Tetsuo will need to find a way to outsmart Kyoichi as nothing gets past him. Kyoichi has already come to the conclusion that Tetsuo killed Nobuto, but will need to find proof that Tetsuo is trying to destroy. Such is the case when Nobuto's body was turned to fertilizer and while there were Nobuto's hairs left behind, Kasen came in before Kyoichi could notice them. And then Reika comes home while Kyoichi is home and Tetsuo is squatting in the backyard after taking in some laxatives and stuff. The tension is certainly building given the stakes that are invovled in all this. |
| Episode 7 It turns out that Kyoichi used to be a good boy, but everything changed when the mafia came to his family's diner that was drowning in debt, and his father committed suicide. All Kyoichi wants is to reopen his family's diner and is willing to do anything to make it happen. Anyway, it's quite a huge game changer now that Tetsuo and Kasen have access to Nobuto's email account and are well aware that they are being watched all while the mafia is starting to catch on that the video is fake. But another twist comes when Kyoichi alerts Reika that they are hiding something. So Tetsuo's next plan is to frame Kyoichi for Nobuto's murder, and just when things were going well, Kyoichi shows up at the worst possible time. As it's the night before the deadline, this chess game is coming its climax. |

| Episode 8 At least Tetsuo managed to not be seen by Kyoichi, but nevertheless that guy is always one step ahead of him. Tetsuo tried to pick his way into Kyoichi's apartment, but it turns out that the lock has an anti-picking defense mechanism, so it was a good thing that he abandoned that. He managed to get back in time to make it look like he just stood there, though his exhausted self tells another message. And then Kyoichi tries to look for evidence of blood using a special flashlight that sees it, but Tetsuo had switched it out beforehand and it reveals nothing. So with that, the fated day is just around the corner as now Tetsuo is backed into a corner. Tetsuo will need to come up with something, and fast as he's looking to frame Takeda for murdering Nobuto. |
| Episode 9 And just like that, Tosu has stirred up tension and mistrust within the mafia as he frames Kyoichi for Nobuto's murder. It turns out that Tosu's father was a police officer and was into mystery dramas. Tosu's parents were killed in an accident, and as such Tosu had to rely on himself to get through life. Everything changed when a fake email sent by Kasen lays the suspicion on Nobuto and Kyoichi as they were said to be involved in an armed robbery, and very quickly the mafia turns on Kyoichi. They investigated Nobuto's apartment and found lots of cash, and then they go into Kyoichi's apartment where Nobuto's remains were found inside his safe, which Kasen had put in there. It's a shame that Kyoichi ended up being the fall guy for all this seeing that he wanted to live an honest life and everything was ruined when the mafia got involved, all while Tosu just wanted to protect his daughter, but somebody had to take the blame for this. |

Not sure how they think they plan to extort it out of them if they murder their son-in-law. I was thinking the best plan would have been to call the police and have them show up at Kyouichi's apartment when the bones were revealed. Not sure how they could weasel out of that. I know this is just fiction and almost anything can go, but I've read the Yakuza is really being pushed back in Japan, so unless the story's narrative is that these guys "own" the police, I don't see how just having naked picture of yourself published is exactly good enough blackmail to keep from going to the police. I'm also not exactly sure what the Tosu's think will happen if they can pin the blame of the murder on Kyouichi...do they really think the organization will just leave them alone? Apparentlt this is an ongoing manga, so I doubt we get a satisfying conclusion |

Well these guys aren't really yakuza. They're sort of an independent group. Which kind of fits in with the idea that the yakuza have their hands full with the police in order for a group like this to be operating without the yakuza either absorbing them or shutting them down. |

| Episode 10 Now that Kyoichi has taken the fall for the murder, Tosu thinks that he and family are in the clear. But while Kyoichi was desperately trying to escape, he notices those marks that were made by the rope ladder that Kasen used to frame him. Tosu has quite the brilliant scheme there to use that flashlight to narrow down the possibilities of the safe. But Kyoichi is not going down without a fight as he knows the truth now. Seeing that he's an honest man who was caught up being around some really bad people that I'm thinking that at the very least he will ensure Reika's well-being before anything seeing that all this started because Tosu knew that Nobuto was going to do all sorts of nasty things to his daughter, and while the self-defense argument would have done the job in court, he's dealing with the yakuza. |
| Episode 11 With Kyoichi's last gasp, he tells the boss that he knows Tosu killed his son. And that sets up the final showdown between daddies as Matori goes into the apartment with a real ALS flashlight this time, and sees the spot where Nobuto died. Tosu emerges confessing that he did it, and those two engage in a fistfight. Tosu breaks Matori's phone meaning that no help from his buddies is coming, and the noise from the fight causes the neighbors living below to call the police. Pretty intense fight that was as while Matori has every right to be upset with Tosu, the fact that he's taking out his anger on his family and not just Tosu is what led to all this. One more episode left to go as the cops are coming in to arrest Matori and his gang, all while Tosu is doing everything he can to protect Kasen and Reika. |

| Episode 12 (Finale) Just when it looked like the police would round up the gang, Matori instead commits suicide hoping to frame Tetsuo for murdering him as revenge for killing his son. But in the end Tetsuo manages to get the policemen to leave, and not a moment too soon as blood would spill out of the apartment shortly afterwards. Tetsuo would then bury Matori far away from town. And thus, Tetsuo finally returns home to be with his family again. Quite the dramatic twist there at the end as it looked like the police came for Matori, but instead Matori killed himself and Tetsuo is the one in trouble if the police had come in. And that ending is pretty ominous there as a strong typhoon comes in and threatens to uncover Matori's remains. But that's something for another day as the manga is still ongoing. The show had plenty of thrills and would have been amazing had it not been for the cheap production values it got. Final Thoughts This show has a strong story that is well-written and it had me on the edge of my seat. The mystery thriller nicely done to drum up the dramatic value and everything. But this show was dragged down by some pretty terrible production values, and while the studio isn't exactly known for producing over-the-top artistic quality, this is pretty bad even by their standards. With better animation quality and production values, this had the potential to be amazing, but it is what it is. In any case, this is one of the few times where it's the story that's good, and it's the everything else that keeps it from being great as the other way around is far more common. Grade: C+ (7/10) |
| I know the manga is ongoing...but they really left way too many loose strings in this one. I feel pretty disappointed in that "ending" 6/10 |
