| RahXephon is one of my favorite anime series. It struck me at such a personal level that it's hard to watch it on a whim. The characters, the music, the overall feel and flow of the anime series from episode to episode made it seem like a masterpiece to me. However, the preceding manga is NOTHING like that. Even though it was released before RahXephon started as an anime series and contains main points of the anime plot, the manga focuses more on ecchi illustrations of all the female characters. There is no complexity behind this manga. It's as if someone rewound RahXephon and made it into a manga and ensured to copy and paste every brainless ecchi illustration from the standard ecchi playbook that most manga of the genre take their plot twists and segues from. 4/10 (Bad... Just bad) Note to all RahXephon fans: If you can get through all the ecchi drivel in this manga (which is 3/4 of the 3 volumes), then you will see illustrations of important plot items that never made it to the big screen, such as |
