They ending is basically the same thing they done with Gundam 0079(Origional Gundam). It cut off at the end because the show had to be cut short. Reasons may differ though.

The anime's is probably because it caught up with the manga.

Let's not overrate it, it's very good but not the 'greatest'... Onizuka says it as well 'Great' :D

The ending kind of ruined it for me.

I can't help but notice everyone looks at GTO and doesn't think much of it, but when they watch/read it they love it.

Yeah, but the shonan junai gumi OVA is really boring compared to the manga, which is pure awesomeness.
Oh, and i'm currently downloading the live-action (series+special+movie), can't wait to astart watching it. I saw 2 episodes and it looked very good, but i never got to watching the rest.

Shonan Junai Gumi was turned into an OVA as well.. Someone's been fansubbing them lately :)

When I first went to watch GTO, I didn't give it much of a chance and dropped it in 10 minutes. But a few weeks later I went back and was really surprised. I absolutely love GTO. The things Onizuka does is just so "cool" (I don't know how to word it, but you know what I mean if you've seen it). After watching the anime I read the manga and watched the live action series.

Now I just gotta read Shonan Junai Gumi.

Basically I always knew it was a great anime, but I could never be bothered to get round to watching. It didn't appeal to me either but then me and my friend decided to check out the J-Dorama movie(we didnt know there was a TV Series for J-Dorama and thought it was a one off). I loved it and went onto watching the whole TV series, then the anime. Currently Im reading the pwnage manga.

I basically love his character in it completely. If I had a teacher like him, school would be such an appealing place.

I'v got to say GTO isn't a very outward appealing anime, when I saw it my first thought was "made in 1999... well" so I was incredibly surprised that an anime this good actually went under my radar, every anime fan I knew watched it but never told me about it, the way he acts is so.... simplistic and obvious but then you'd never actually do them because it maybe irresponsible or brutish that is just funny to actually see them happen, I for one found myself cheering him on after the first ep, well that's going on too long so I'll end with he really is the GTO

Godofdarkness | Jul 15, 2007 10:46 AM
It sure has a crazy ending.

Rasenore | Jul 8, 2007 3:28 PM
Yeah, he's so awesome.

I think Takeshi Sorimachi does Onizuka incredibly well. And the song Poison rocked.

It's not quite as good as the anime, but it rocks. Also for better quality than youtube, try crunchyroll.com ^^
