Oh but of course, another hiatus is entirely possible, unfortunately (with this chapter, there should be enough pages for volume 6, so there won't be any chapters left in limbo anymore), but I'm hoping this issue will have info on what to expect for the future of the series.

I wouldn't count on it being the last chapter. The publisher has mentioned that it will be the end of the shopping mall arc, but not that it'll be the end of the whole series.

If the next ch is the last one, ima rage ._.

Hopefully it's not going on hiatus again or even worse, Ending.

I'm not too worried about quality. I know with Shouji Sato the pacing can feel slow unless there's a lot of pages at once, so I have a feeling it's just going to be a huge conclusion to the arc.

nice, 60 pages :D

lol
true

alamarco | Mar 31, 2010 7:14 PM
Wow, 60 pages eh? That's a ton, hopefully it'll be a quality chapter. I could go either way on quantity. :)

Oh, and here's a little tidbit of info before the new chapter is out: it will apparently be 60 pages. :D

Look down at the cover on the bottom, and notice the 60 P by the picture of Saeko:

Considering it's a zombie story, I think an original story arc and ending could do well, as long as they wrap up all the loose ends, which is the only problem original endings usually have. Of course a second season would be nice, and judging by some of the hype I've already seen for the series, Madhouse may very well decide it's worthwhile and leave it open for more later, so it could go either way as far as I'm concerned.

im all for open endings and never original endings... but i thought omamori himari's ending was okay (and himari looked HAWT in that outfit), but indeed, an original ending would kill HotD in all ways possible

alamarco | Mar 29, 2010 1:59 PM
Well even if there's no material, a short season anime could still prove fatal. Omamori Himari is a good example, it followed the manga up until the final 2 episodes. So I guess my first hope is 12-13 episodes, then I'll have to keep on hoping we get multiple seasons and not a one season failure.

PaulNamida | Mar 29, 2010 8:18 AM
yeah, there's no material to make it longer, they should make it until they get to Saya's house and beat up that teacher and his Orgy Bus

Windex | Mar 28, 2010 10:53 PM
13 episodes max. I Guarantee it.

alamarco | Mar 28, 2010 7:37 PM
The one thing I'm scared of is there doesn't seem to be enough chapters/content right now. Also there was rumours that HOTD was going to go back on hiatus again.

Does anyone know the amount of episodes HOTD is getting? A 12 episode per season anime would probably work. They could keep it original by keeping it short and splitting it up into multiple seasons.

PaulNamida | Mar 28, 2010 3:06 PM
dammit >w< i guess ill just have to wait for the BD then... and hope they give it an open ending and not some shitty original ending >w<

gringe | Mar 28, 2010 2:01 AM
It's definitely going to be a TV series, so you might want to give up hope on the OVA. :P

PaulNamida | Mar 27, 2010 10:03 PM
all im asking is an OVA series >w< that could be faithful enough

alamarco | Mar 27, 2010 9:12 PM
That'll be the big hope eh? So much can get ruined if they try to go an original route. I'm going to be praying every night, kneeling to my Saeko poster, that the anime follows the manga to a T. :)

PaulNamida | Mar 27, 2010 8:14 PM
indeed, with that animation quality and sticking to the original story this could be the anime of the decade
