Looks like shinn knows how to recieve mercy but not give it. I mean just look at their first battle. Kira pretty much destroys the impulse three times over before he's finally beaten. Then shin brags about how he beat the invincible freedom. I mean, what the hell!, the only reason shinn lived was because kira turned off his reactor at the last second before it blew. Even in defeat, all kira could think about was how to keep shinn from dying, that takes serious balls!, not to mention a good sense of honor, which shinn is sorely lacking. |

@elindir- I consider it Ray's win not Shinn's. Ray was the one who Learned of Kira's weakness and combined it with the Impulse's ability to detach and reassemble itself. Once Shinn no longer had the Impulse he no longer stood any chance against Kira, regardless of the power of Strike Freedom. |

Kira stole the scene later on the series and that was really screwed up. He had to, like some mighty God, reincarnation of Amuro, descend from the skies and force his peace on people.
Being shot down was a good thing, regardless of how or why he lost. Just cuz he fought in a war, doesn't mean he knows everything nor that he understand everyone's troubles and suffering. He was conceited and arrogant on Destiny.

Shinn only won because he took advantage of Kira's (probably) only weekness: he didn't aim to kill the pilot, but to make his mobile suit immobile. Without this knowledge, Shinn wouldn't have won. |

Kira still destroyed Shinn's gundam in a way...he destroyed parts and made shinn have to switch out for more parts...if his gundam was a single piece like freedom, shinn would have still lost... |
