it wasn't all mikami's fault. b/c light game him double orders.basically Light told mikami Light can NOT pass judgements. then later told him to not take any unnecessary actions. Mikami firmily believing light is truely God, thought Light would know this. And acted upon that. And Light thought Mikami would not act, b/c of that order to not act. I mean, even at this point, they could have still won. But lost b/c they both wrote takada's name at almost the sametime. Leading one to believe he killed Takada. If mikami realized that timing was off, he would immediately realize Light wrote it down. So he would then think of something, try to contact light, etc. Samething goes for Light. what unknown said is still true. If light didn't proclaim victory, they still have insufficient evidence to jail him. This is due to the fact DN can control actions. So the factors are * bad luck * bad communication |

To comment on what Unknown said, Light didn't die due to overconfidence. He got nailed because Mikami went and used the real note when he had been ordered not to, which let Near find it. |

Light died because he was too confident.L died because he was too confident and wanted to prove that Light was Kira. Mello died because he was too stupid. Near could have died because he was too confident and not intelligent enough but he didn't because Mikami did something that he should have known that would cause problems (everyone would know that, didn't Light tell him to not use the real death note because he was being followed or something like that?) |

@bluthutyour right through deductive reasoning, or through the chart, it shows Light was the most intelligent person. He excels in EVERYTHING. But the funny thing is, b/c he was so good at everything, that itself become its weakness. As he was getting too over confident over period of time. All other 3 (mello, near, L ) are very intelligent, but they all lack in one department or two. |

Death note is really cool, but everyone thinks so high of L.But I like Kira way more, his way of thinking and stuff, it's so smart and evil, I just start to think with him. xD Like what could he do now? |

near and mello arc was done bit poorly in the anime. i don't think manga part was poor at all. It is well planned out, but some parts needed to be emphasized more. In th emanga, with closer look you can tell the author put a lot of work in it . But sadly, some main part wasn't done as well, therefore overall quality looks poor. |
