Ah, yes, I remember that episode. Heh, the first time I saw it, it was in straight Japanese--nearly a decade ago too. Seems I've forgotten a fair number of the one-liners :( |

It's from the Magical Project S episode "East vs. West" where Sasami and Ginji meet the Tenchi like characters.(Genjuro is shot by Gunfight Girl. His family gathers around, and Genjuro mutters these famous last words.) Genjuro: Binpachi....ninjas are cool. Then there's: Sasami: What, Misa? You're an ally of Oni Jigoku? Pixy Misa: Well, after all, this American western philosophy fits my personality to a tee. |

The original Tenchi Muyo OVA dubs, Ranma 1/2, and El-Hazard were the only three shows I could stand dubbed. I think the only real reason is because at the time, they were some of the first real anime I'd ever seen, and I didn't have access to subs....if the ninja reference is something dubbed, I'm afraid I don't get it. Though, I do say 'goodnight' in the middle of the afternoon (ala Ginji), just because I like the way it sounds ^^; |

Actually the Tenchi dubs with Matt K. Miller were some of the better dubs around, but all the great Engrish would be lost if MPS were dubbed and they decided to use French again for Pixy Misa. And Washu shouting "OH MY GOD!" in English when that flower appeared. |

Dubbing anything is a horrible idea in my opinion, but I digress--that's personal opinion, of course.Go figure--they dubbed Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe, but not MPS. At the time, I think most Magical Girl shows were being eclipsed by Card Captor Sakura. It's a shame MPS never got more play, but....that's what clubs like this are for ^^; |

I forgot that they butchered Sasami's name. Nevermind. Then I hope they just license it and get the 26-episode boxset released.Character songs would be nice. MPS definitely has those. |

Yeah, the plot was good. They just overplayed that Amitav song like they only had budget for that and the OP/ED. Misao rocks, and Sasami is cute as ever. I'd love for Funimation to dub MPS someday. It's probably way out of their budget, but it'd crack me up to hear Luci Christian do Washu again and Sonny Strait do Ginji. |

I didn't see the bonus theater for the longest time either, for the same reason--I only have the VHS, heh.I eventually saw it...I don't remember everything that was on there, but there's a fairytale where Misao is Cinderella, some musings by Pixy Misa as to why she's the greatest thing in the show, a faux Pretty Sammy 'Movie' trailer, a look into how Sasami's house is organized, and perhaps the most amusing one, the "Who killed Pretty Sammy?" murder mystery short. |

Misao Shinohara's growing on me. In season 1 it was about the shy girl becoming friends, but season 2 they really play up the Sasami's shadow angle, dark magic powers, and potential love triangle.Can anyone explain what's on Pretty Sammy bonus theater? I haven't seen that since it wasn't on the VHS tapes. |
