Thanks nixops!I wondered why I remembered seeing that kind of scene somewhere. However with everyone putting up all of this different info and opinions on the subject. It has definitely brought to my attention I need to go back to it in the near future to get things straight for myself. lol @ suffix - You could be right, but KEY always seems to want to screw with our emotions rather than our heads! XD Maybe that time they tried to pull a double whammy! |

Kaos,There is a scene with a fox in the background. Personally I dont think Makoto died, I just think she ceased to exist in human form. |

Well, either way is rather cruel.To live on with the memories, is the same thing as a living hell, more or less. Makoto would starve to death due to grief, and the lack of motivation to take care of herself. To liv on without the memories, but that'd mean that her time there was more or less meaningless. To Makoto anyways. Besides, if she still had the previous memories of Yuuichi, all she would do is long for him over and over again, seeing that she had already decided to sacrifice her life to be with Yuuichi for a short period of time. |

Well, I think if she were to live on, I would again have her change back into a fox, and her memories would be wiped clean. Sure we would think it was horrible since she doesn't remember all that happened. But it wouldn't be like she was in pain from having those memories knowing she can't go back to that. Plus it would have been nice to have a scene towards the end of the show where they stood on that spot on the hill and a fox came out of the trees. |

Yeah, I thought Makoto died. I went and re-checked the VN again, just in case.Well, it would've been nice if Makoto was at least able to live on... but ... or not. If Makoto was able to live on, that would be nothing but cruelty. I guess her dying is a sort of mercy-killing in a way, in that way, the wish really is a nice thing. |

Alright thanks for the info Cruel Love! I knew I was missing something after not watching it for a while. I technically did go back and watch part of it a few weeks ago, but it was Mai's story arc because she is my favorite! lol |

That was a much better explanation than mine! Exactly what I was thinking. Especially all the pain that they had to endure as she lost her human abilities towards the end would be greatly diminished if she came back. But even though I see her as not ever meeting with them again, I still think she lived and went back to being a fox. |

I believe it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for her, granted because Yuuichi returned to the city. I share kaosblack's thoughts on that. It would lose a lot of its meaning if she was able to come back every year. |

It has been a while since I have rewatched the series, but I think Makoto transformed back into the fox that she originally was. Correct me anyone if I am wrong. I really need to go back and watch it. Probably after Angel Beats and this anime season is over. |
