Kai Munakata (宗像 嵬)Age: 24Munakata is a police officer part of the GRAVE Division, and Akira's partner. The two have vastly different approaches to police work, with Munakata not being as good-hearted as Akira, and much more cynical and sarcastic. Tsukasa comments that his aura is more similar to a yakuza's than a cop's, as he intimidates even his colleagues on the Force. Munakata often hits on Asago and teases her, enjoying her angry reactions. Thanks to his ability to read situations and people, he correctly guesses that she is under a lot of stress, even before knowing her role within the gokudo world. Despite being known as a womanizer and sometimes bringing women to his police vehicle to fool around, Munakata claims that he "lives to protect women" and protects Asago multiple times. After witnessing Ryuuji's mental fortitude, Munakata confesses to being impressed by him, especially when Ryuuji refuses help from the police in dealing with the drug pushed by Garyukai.
