Now, as a few of you are probably aware (if you've been to my Profile), that I'm pretty new to Anime. It hasn't been my life for the last 5 years, nor has it been my life for even the past year. Being a Junior in High School, people's judgments of you are always present and available. So after I watched my first episode of Lucky Star, I thought to myself, what are people going to think of me now? So I hid, I didn't tell anyone about how I had just watched a non-Shōnen anime (it seems almost everybody has at least SEEN Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Dragon Ball these days). This summer, I decided to really tell someone I watched Anime. Of course, I didn't tell them in the same manner that one would tell someone they took drugs, but I decided to reference some shows and tell them how much I enjoyed it. My first friend was surprised, as he didn't think I was type. But he enjoyed some Anime too, so it was all good with him. So I continued to tell people. The majority of my friends surprisingly also admitted to watching Anime as well. From Full Metal Alchemist to Clannad, I was equally happy and surprised myself at how many people there were. But of course, it wasn't free of people telling me how "dumb" it was that I watched Anime. Whether it's, "Anime is gay", or " That stuff is so weird, really, what's with the big eyes?" it wasn't free from some criticism. However, since the day that I decided to tell people, I've become more comfortable with myself. People now have begun to view me as a bit more on the strange spectrum, or as more "girly". But for every one person who says that, I've also got one person saying how they respect that I'm so open with my hobbies. All in all, I'm really thankful for picking up Lucky Star that one day, not only did I laugh every second of that show, I found out more about myself and the nature of people.

Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it :) (if you made it to here)

Cheers,
