Anime Relations: Suzuka, Clannad

Clannad-I just finished this series and I plan on watching the movie tomorrow but I have to say I like this one alot and it's on my Amazon wishlist along with Kanon.  I love how the stories of the individual people tie together.

Suzuka-I'm not really sure at all why I watch this one but yet I still do.  I guess it's because I like just about everyone in this series except Suzuka!  What IS the deal with this girl and why is Yamato-kun obsessed with her??? Oi!

Sola- Sky in english. I actually like this one alot. It's worth rewatching for me. It's the story of a high school boy who comes across a Yaka (a demon that can't go into the light) with a delightful personality. I even have a favorite character now because of it...Moriyama Aono. Think Rei from Eva only more human. Oh yea, and the tattered bunny is cool too. I want one.

Spice & Wolf ep 1-3-Not sure how I feel about this one. I like Horo and Lawrence but I guess I can't get with the merchant thing. I don't want to be a merchant, never wanted to be one but outside of that I like it.

Kanon-I can't believe I forgot to review this one! Harem story kinda about a high school boy who can't remember his past in this small town. Random storylines that tie together very beautifully. Demon hunters, Fox girls, Uguu, and Taiyaki. Yep, I love it.

Clannad-I call this one Kanon's sister. The same company did both of them. Kind of the same feel about it with the random storylines that tie together well. This one's about a high school boy who meets a girl that wants to re-establish the theatre club. I don't want this one to end but alas it must.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-I can't believe I missed this one too!!! Omg, and I call myself a Konata fan! *bonks head* Okay, if you know Konata from Lucky Star you already know who I'm talking about. Haruhi is a girl (of course in high school) who makes things happen when she's bored. She searches for aliens and the supernatural but doesn't realize they're all around her. Hilarious, random (so random the episodes aren't even in order) and creative beyond all recognition! AND...there's whisper's of a second season comming out soon!!! Omg omg omg I can't wait! This would make a wonderful JDrama if they did it very carefully like Shika Otoko Awoniyoshi.

Coffee Prince-A kind of comedy light-hearted drama about this girl who dresses up like a guy to get a job at an all male coffee shop to help out her family. I find it hilarious because she develops a crush on her boss. He deals with this whole "Omg I'm falling in love with a guy" issue then totally loses it when he discovers she's a girl. Weird but hilarious for me. They are the most mis-matched couple I've ever seen.

Love Truly-Another light-hearted comedy drama about a high status family kinda like the president with his secret service. I don't follow that storyline very much but I do like the one about the country bumpkin girl (think Indian living in a teepee bumpkin girl) who lived on a mountain with her grandmother on a one cow farm. She eventually makes her way to the city and we follow her story as she tries to become a chef for the famous political family. Ya, it's all about the food storyline for me. Feel better? That's more typical of me.

Ok, Deer-Man show: It's actually called Shika Otoko Awoniyoshi (The Great Deer-Man, or something like that.) Anyway, you can download the torrent off the internet because they don't have it subbed here in the U.S. yet. It's funny without the subs but absolutely hilarious with the subs. At least my Japanese was good enough to get the general gist of the storyline. Who knew? Did wonders for my self-esteem when I realized that. Anyway, it's a drama/comedy about this guy with the worst luck you can imagine that pretty much is stalked by a talking deer. Yes, it's live action. I like it cuz it's got kendo, talking deer, a world destroying giant catfish (it's the reason why Japan has earthquakes y'know), decieving rats (yes, rats, the animal), fox women (yes, foxes too), and well hell, it's just plain funny.

Death Note Movies-1 & 2-finally got around to watching the Death Note live action movies and they turned out to be really good. I didn't like the second one all that much but it was worth it just to see L smile. I think that man is so hot. I can't figure out why. Maybe it's that tiny little mole on the right side of his nose. (I know, that's really odd coming out of my mouth. I hear it doesn't have the same ending as the manga but heck, I can't make it through the first few anime episodes so how the heck would I know? I guess I'll try the manga's just to see if there really is a difference from the anime. I hear it's better.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ep 3-13- What is with me and finding anime's with alternate realities? Just when you think it's over something else happens. So far there's been 3 different storylines with the same characters with the ending always deadly somehow. Anyway, it's just weird enough to keep my attention cuz it's got this weird "I killed Kenny" thing going on. How may ways can we kill the same character over and over again? Ingenious still tho.

Darker than Black- I dropped this one after the 3rd episode because it really was starting to feel like Cowboy Bebop. Just didn't like it after that point.

Zombie Loan- Watched the whole series and loved it! The ending is a proverbial cliffhanger so now I gotta read the manga's. If you watch it, watch for death! He's awesome. He doesn't show up till late in the series tho but trust me, it's worth it! On my must buy list. I know, that's rare.

Code-E- Completed this series too and once again loved it! Awkward teenager story that for some unknown reason just cracks me up. I'm buying this one someday.

Potemayo ep. 2 & 3- ROFLMAO. That's all I gotta say. Weird thing living in the back of the fridge with Azumanga humor. Oh yea, great comedy. Buyable.

Bleach ep. 142-148 I'm really hoping we get back to the action soon cuz they're loosing me.

Saiunkoku Monogatari
ep. 1 & 2 For some reason I feel the need to talk about this one again... Yet another funny. This one's about a girl who becomes the wife of a beautiful gay prince that has no idea how to be royal. She's hired to teach him how to be a proper emporer which is cute of course. Shoujo I know. Just a warning. Has a Fruits Basket kind of flavor to it.

Lucky Star ep. 1-7 Omg, I'm totally in love with this one. Weird titol sequence and music which could irritate anyone but talk about random comedy. Love it.

Jigoku Shoujo-Hell Girl-This one is repetitive but apparently it does get better near the end and they did come up with a second season. Basically it's about a website you go to at midnight and you type in the name of the person you want revenge on and Jigoku Shoujo will take care of it for you. Of course you have to sign over your soul to hell as an agreement. Ai is definatly done very well. The animation is done wonderfully to the point where you actually feel her eyes burning into your soul. I wish I could get that much emotion from my pitiful characters. Oh yea, by the feel of it it's got a very distinct Lain feel to it. I think that's really why I watch. I get that fix from it.

Death Note-This one bores me. Ryuk (Rook, haha) cracks me up though. He's the whole show for me for some strange reason. Light is the guy who comes across a notebook, the Death Note, and her discovers when he writes names in it they die. He likes this idea. In response his arch enemy, L, is out to kill him. Who will win? *shrug* I guess I'll watch it to the end since everyone I know won't stop talking about it.

Saiunkoku Monogatari-This one's a cute comedy. Shoujo oriented I think. If you liked Fushigi Yugi you might like this one. It's about this emporer in a fantasy land who doesn't want to be an emporer but his consort was hired into turning him into a proper emporer. It's great since the guy is very much in love with men. Very nice Bishouned too. *yum* I guess I just watch for the eye candy. Brain dead eye candy.

Hmm...I guess October got me in the mood for horror anime's. Zombie Loan, Death Note, Jigoku Shoujo, and Higurashi no Kai. Only one I've finished so far and right now it's my favorite. We'll see about the others.
