Usagi Drop
Anime Relations: Usagi Drop
Usagi drop
Episode 1- Even when all the other relatives treated ren like she was a stranger, acting like they didnt want her, daikichi stood up to the plate and asked her if she wanted to live with him. I liked that alot, he didn't care
what the relatives thought, all he cared about was the little girl that was in need there. I also liked how mature she is, despite her age, she tried to keep watch on the incense, and instead of offering some plain flower she
ran and got the flowers that the granddad loved most, showing how much she cared for him.
Episode 2- He goes out of his way to make her day, makng her laugh and smile, making things fun for her, and trying his best to shuffle between his work and his new job as a parent. I like that about him, even though
there's the new form of stress (rin) he still does his best to be a good dad to her, in a sense.
Episode 3- He said its a sacrifice to raise a child, in a sense from what weve seen so far thats true, he's been forced to balance between her and his work every day, even going as far as requesting to be demoted basically so
he could have more time with her. I liked how the relatives warmed up to her, especially that scene where as they go to leave the grandparents house, and rin says shed like to come back and the 'auntie" told her she would
always be waiting for her... thats just so cool. Once again we see how mature rin is in a sense, understanding or at least thinking about the concept of death. I liked how daikinchi gently eased her fear by first telling her
that she wouldnt have to worry about that until she was a women, then a old lady and finally finished by saying he'd always be there for her. The bond thats there is just too beautiful for words. When she was afraid of him
being angry at her for peeing the bed, it was cool how he addressed that by telling her he wasn't mad.
Episode 4- During the episode when she asked him to do her hair because someone said she didnt look cute, it showed that girls even at such a young age really take appearence very seriously. I really liked the end when
she said 'this would make me into a big girl' and he was like No that's not until you're older!xD I also liked how he questioned the mothers reasons for leaving her daughter, yet another way that shows how much he cares
for little rin.
Episode 5- Even though the mom left rin for her work as a author she still loves her alot, which is nice although truth be told I'd rather have my child any day over some stupid job but thats just me. I also liked how although
she still thinks of granddad as 'Father' or 'dad' daikichi to her is just plain daikichi, which goes to show he's someone meaningful and special to her. On a sidenote i liked how she wanted her name to remain as kaga rin,
so that she'd be just like granddad, it goes to show how much she loves him still even though he's gone.
Episode 6- The whole thing about the tree being planted on the same day that you're born is really cool. For one thing it shows that the person who planted it for you, cares about you deeply, but it's also a way of saying you
exist in a sense. Also the end was awesome where it showed the boy telling daikinchi there was a weird old man outside and he was like let me at himxD
No can do, girls have an awful lot of things to carry, you know.
Episode 7- This one seemed to say that parents have to put up with alot of things in order to give their children a good life, which is what alot of the episodes in this series seem to revolve around, but its fine. I like how
reina's mother is willing to put herself through a marriage that she can't stand all for the sake of reina's happiness.
Episode 8- This one, I enjoyed more near the end when he said "maybe things changing isn't always a bad thing. After watching the part a couple of times i think i got it. To me, although the flower bed at the granddads hous
might be gone, they still remember it regardless. when rin said "but it's ok because we still have flowers for granddad at our house, it shows in a sense that the important things never change. Although the garden may be
gone and the flowers with it, the important thing is that the memories and the feelings that go with the flowers are things that still remain, just like how daikichi said near the end that granddad's grave would always be
granddad's grave. I also loved when he thought about the girl he likes in a yuketa and he has rin and the little boy telling Him to watch out for carsxD
Episode 9- heh i loved the scene where the teacher realized the two circles looked like a womens chest and how he freakedxD. I also liked how they yet again show a bit of japanese culture, the first being with the teacher
teaching the children to write symbols and then the part where daikichi shut the storm shutters.
Episode 10- I was worried that rin might die... silly me, but still even though I know now she won't die it still gots me scared. I liked how the mom helped daikichi to get through his experience with rin having her fever. Its
just yet again something that shows what parents go through for their children time and time again.
Episode 11- I finally reached the conclusion of this little gem, and i have to say that i'm happy that i found it. Although there are alot of sacrifices to raising a child of your own, i like to think that in the end it's worth it. The
three parents near the end mentioned their 'own time' being at work and with their children. I liked that. That and when daikichi said that he could be happy by seeing her smile.

Shiki
In the show on the outside its simply a vampire versus human type senario, the vampires kill the humans to survive, but on the inside the tale is much more then that, its a tale about the wish to live, about sin, about whether its right or wrong for one to exist if it means sacrificing another. the humans on the one hand dont want to die, but neither do the shiki. theyre both beings that wish to live, but cant exist in the same world. I've seen people say that since the shiki are already dead, they should stay dead, but if you were one who was killed way before your time and suddenly youre getting a second chance at life wouldnt you take it? you wouldnt sit there and willing disappear. That show was amazing, thats all i have to say.

The strength that the majority of the kids have, doing what must be done, even though they know that the cost is their life. Giving up your life for your family, friends, i wouldn't even begin to understand what that would feel like. i mean yes you have things you care about and love but at the same time, there's also yourself to think about. You're just as important and therefore also have a right to life too right? In order to allow oneself to let go and accept that you're going to die... I can't even begin to think what kind of courage it would take to do so.
