Anime Relations: Black Lagoon, Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage, Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail

I finally had the opportunity to watch BL on Syfy channel lately, with last episode of the OVA or commonly known as 'Roberta's Blood Trail', ending its current anime season for the channel.

I must say I didn't expect much from it before watching and thought of it as an old title that I had missed along my path of anime, but came to like it sooner than expected!
Like most anime, the style and theme should catch me first but this time, I left it to the array of characters and curiosity to lead me on.

I could say I was never bored along the way and didn't take to 1 or 2 characters almost immediately but those that did, I'll just line them up later on, which you will see very soon. ^^

Balalaika was one of the first I took to, just with the way she is and how she carried herself. My mind would automatically link her to familiar characters from other series~something that tend to happen commonly w/me^^
Maybe its bcos of the military connection and charisma of leading her men, she reminds me of Olivier Armstrong. Thanks to her and Olga(character from MGS), I'm curious abt Russia ^^" I have to add that it's her strength, ability and burden, as well as her scars, that drew me to this character and actually find that sexy! lol

Before I turn this blog into a Balalaika shrine, I'm shifting gear towards the first character I should have talked about, Rock.
He seemed miniature at the beginning and I was uncertain how long he could remain the way he is, seeing that he's one of the main character, he's bound to make some directions later on.
I'm actually glad that there's some depth as we follow and later on, especially in the OVAs.
There's this subtle RevyXRock thingy that keeps hanging there and I hope it will still b there shd there be a follow up series.

The third character didn't quite make it to my fav list from the 1st season but she did at the 3rd ^^
I suppose having back stories help in defining characters and satisfy any curiosity a fan she hv.
I actually preferred her Bloodhound get-up to her maid attire, w/ her hair down and all =) It's really sad at the end to see her trashed up soooo badly when she could hv sustained a little much lesser injuries.
I suppose she had to really lose an arm n a leg in return for peace back in her life. Though...=(

Anime Relations: Bleach

I always tend to note familiar features and while reading Bleach one day, I found myself linking characters to real-life look-alikes! Well, not tht they all really look alike but I try to think of who would best fit w/ their features if possible. Pls. note tht this image is only a fan-based chart filled w/ famous people whom I thought would fit the looks of the Bleach characters. Not all characters are here since I found some characters difficult to cast or hvn’t found suitable ones yet! ^^” All actors are frm Korea since I’m not familiar w/ recent Japanese or Asian entertainers.
