Anime Relations: D.Gray-man
First off, what does underrated mean? Basically to underestimate the extent, value and importance of(in this case anime) something. My top 5 is based off of anime that was very low ranking or not at all ranked(out of 100). From three websites, animenewsnetwork.com, myanimelist.com and the top tens.com/anime-all time. So without further adieu, let me begin.

1. Valkyria chronicles- Now this one surprised me. It is ranked in the 700's on MAL and not on the top 100 on the other two sites listed. This anime is heartwarming, has a blend of entertaining characters, and is well animated. The music is very good as well. There is very good character development, and the plot is well though out and entertaining enough to get you hooked. There is drama, romance, action, it's everything you could want from an anime. To me, this is an anime i really enjoyed and i was surprised it was not higher in the polls.

2. D gray man- Now yes, yes, this anime is known for sure and even has a manga(ongoing) as well. But for some reason it wasn't listed in the top 100 anime's and as for MAL it belong in the mid 200's. Pathetic for a good anime such as this. I feel like it might be too old for people who are getting into anime the past few years. And since it is not ongoing anymore, people can easily just forget it exists. This anime has a very interwoven plot, involving demons and exorcists(people who kill the demons) it has no real religious influence so if you aren't into god, you can still watch this anime. It has very good characters, all of which are brilliant. The music is FANTASTIC and you may even pick up some new japanese bands to listen too. The anime is well done, and not to mention there is everything in this plot. Bad, good, love, hate, action, horror, drama featuring a protagonist who is essentially, the spirit of good, much like that of naruto or ichigo from bleach.

3. Black lagoon- I feel that not enough people have seen this. It seems to be ranked far off on all three sites, and despite it having many completed watchers, i feel that this action, shoot em' up anime is highly underwatched. It isn't long by any standards, but it is extremely entertaining as an anime. The animation is, well, pretty good. It is pretty old, from 2013's standards, but it is actually pretty good. If you can get past the first 2 episodes, then you know it gets better. And it does. The characters are all very entertaining, and reminds me of another anime, jormungand, which is very much like this. The music is OK, but the whole point is that this is underrated for no good reason. More people should watch this, if you like action anime, then hello, black lagoon is waiting for you.

4. Blood + - Now yes, blood + is, well, highly unliked. It is ranked in the 600's on MAL, but idk why. It isn't perfect but it sure as hell deserves better than that. The sequels to the show were shit, but blood + is actually good. Vampires, blood, hot female character and her quirky brother? yes please where do i sign? The plot is pretty good, there's no real headway however, and the music is OK, and the characters are, well, slightly less than entertaining. But Back to the point, action, blood, vampires, hot bitch. So i mean, hey it isn't a 10, but it should be watched more than it is.

5. Nurarihyon no Mago- last but not least is one of my favorite animes. Which is highly underrated. Ranked 643?! bullshit. Made none of the top 100's and seems to be highly overlooked, and barely watched. It has a varity of entertaining characters, and enough humor and comic relief to balance out the ever present seriousness of the demon threat. The kid(main character) is a half human, hald demon belonging to the most powerful demon clan. He is obviously different, a nice kid, with strong ideals(like naruto) who starts off pretty strong(like naruto) but becomes stronger. The kid has like power to call upon, kind of like a duel stronger self like yugi had from yu gi oh. It has very good music bu Monkey majik, a canadian band that sings exclusively in japanese.(and english, sometimes both) It has a very good plot, filled with uphill battles, plot twists, and changing of the tides. It is all the humor, action, and drama you could want together in an anime.
