Short review of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Anime Relations: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken
I noticed the low-rated reviews on the anime page, and I thought to give my very first review/opinion on it. Since MAL apparently doesn't want reviews commenting on other reviews, this'll have to do.
1) First of all, I feel like people would get disappointed in 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' because they were expecting much more out of it.
But for me, I was already looking forward to a lighthearted anime and had no expectations whatsoever. I read the first six chapters of the manga before the anime came out, so it gave me a pretty good feel. I put that on-hold for whatever reason I don't remember, but after watching this anime, I am inspired to continue reading the manga where I last left off.
2) I'd compare this anime to Overlord and Log Horizon together. It's a world-building anime with an overpowered main character.
It has a mix of the main protagonist trying to establish a nation and diplomatic relations. As well as, trying to work out the kinks to easier living in the isekai world they're in.
3) The anime seems rushed. I mean I guess if your main character is a nonviolent OP slime who'd rather talk his way through possible violent destructive means with the enemy party realizing that they're weak to this 'slime' and cares more about the well-being of their people; yes it's gonna be quick and easy to resolve the situation at hand.
Closing Note: All in all, the anime was very entertaining to me. I'd like more isekai animes to be more inclusive about how the isekai society works and how it compares to our reality. It's interesting to see, but if you prefer action over function of society and how it correlates to our reality, it's fine too.
