Anime Relations: Maison Ikkoku, Clannad: After Story

Maison Ikkoku episode 60 was quite emotionally evocative for me. Be warned that this contains spoilers, so stop reading here if you haven't seen the series and intend to.

Anime Relations: Maison Ikkoku, Macross F, Ookami to Koushinryou II

Well I've been muscling my way through Maison Ikkoku. I'm really enjoying it! It's very funny, and there are plenty of fun akward moments. I know my daughter will enjoy this one, particularly because the main daydreams and runs into things, and she thought that was funny in Minami-ke.

I really like the characters and how they work together. At first I didn't like the tennis coach guy, but now I enjoy the interplay between him and the main guy, both competing for the girl's attention. And I love how everyone messes with the main guy; there's some really funny stuff there. I've tentatively rated this one a 10. I'd really love to see it redone by Studio DEEN with some modern technology.

I've also been watching Macross Frontier. This is pretty awesome; I'm really enjoying the art, the world, and the characters. I'm not a huge "giant robots in space zipping around and firing stuff at other stuff zipping around in space", but it does have some awesome moments, like when ... One of the songs ("Diamond Crevasse") is stuck in my head, as well.

One of the other series I'm looking forward to seeing more of is Spice and Wolf II. Has this has really stepped up it's game from the first season, or am I imagining things? I'm totally loving it.
