Why I Love Anime/Manga
How I got started:
Throughout my childhood, all my other friends have always talked about how much they love Naruto. They were all obsessed about it then and I used to hate it at that point. Even though I had never seen it or read it at all, I still hated it.
This continued to jr high when more of my friends were into it and into more anime and manga than just naruto. They would always urge me to watch or read anime or manga too. (I actually started reading a bit of MAR in 6th grade but stopped after 3 volumes partly because the friend I was borrowing the volumes from always forgot to bring volume 4) That was all........................
My brother, who also hated anime and still does, showed me death note. It is the ONLY anime he ever watched in his life and it will always be. He started me on death note
I was so addicted to death note that I didn’t have a life for the time I was watching it. When I finished death note, I didn’t know what to do with my life
I had no way to take up all my spare time... So I took up more anime. And that was the start of my beautiful friendship with anime and manga
Culture
The Japanese culture intrigues and interests me greatly.
It’s so different from western culture, I love the way the old houses are structured, with screen doors that are always kept open and decks with a courtyard in the middle with a beautiful feng shui garden. The lifestyle seems a lto more peaceful than western lifestyle.
The garden style is very different from bright colorful and intricate western gardens. It is more peaceful, relaxed and simple.
The Japanese language is on my very long list of languages I would like to learn (actually after all the anime I’ve watched now, I’m halfway there XD, I can seriously understand bits and pieces without subtitles) But one day I’d like to learn to speak it fluently and write it too
These cultural ideas I love to see in action is some of the anime I watch or manga I read
Because of these different ideas that I’m not used to seeing in western media, I am greatly intrigued in the ideas of anime and manga
Takes up spare time
Without anime/manga I would always be bored out of my mind.
Awesomeness of plots
The plots and storylines of anime and manga that I read are usually filled with complicated plot twists and suspense.
My mother would come into my room while I’m watching some anime and my face would be like an inch from the screen and would not move because I’m waiting for something to happen. I love suspense like that
The plot twists are so much more complicated and waaay cooler than any western show or comic book.
The action, oh my god, it’s so intense. Japanese people make everything intense, sometimes it’s bad but most of the time I love it
Wide variety/diversity
The variety of anime and manga is soooo gigantic, that I believe ANYONE can find and anime or manga they adore.
Theirs is so much anime and manga to choose from I am sometimes overwhelmed
Music
Japanese Pop is quite catchy, the melodies and refrains are much more melodic than some western music. I hear these songs as openings or closings of anime.
VOLCALOID <3 which I think is really cool because it’s a robot and it sounds really awesome. Japanese people are really creative
Wooooow, i typed that all up in 15 minutes... i'm such a nerd :P
this blog will always be on my profile bio thing place. i just thought to make it a blog because then people can comment on it if they want

MyAnimeList
wow, so before my friend showed me this awesome website, i would type up all the anime i wanted to watch and all teh manga i wanted to read in a microsoft word document....
But then after i made an account here, i realized i didn't need that word documetn so i trashed it. This website is awesome. It keeps your anime and manga perfectly organized and i like to be organized. it's what i do.
I love the way it gives you the number of episodes, chapters and volumes and it's great how it asks you to prioritize your anime and manga and make the status of said anime or manga as 'completed' 'plan to watch' 'on-hold' 'dropped' and others which i can't remember at the moment :P
anyway, i will continue to use this great website and make more of my otaku friends join as well. you have a comitted member right here MyAnimeList.net
yeah, this blog isn't very big because it's only my first... but i will post more that are much longer.
