I know this has taken me a fair bit of time to finish but hey that’s just me. This blog is all about my first year of being an otaku, all about the up’s and down’s. Whilst watching anime I have found some really interesting things, where the anime is good it gets me hooked after about 3 episodes and I really enjoy it, for instance Clannad or Naruto. On the other hand I have found some really bad anime. Being the idiot I am I sometimes pick anime at random, going into it completely blind. BAD IDEA! At this point I really knew nothing about what I could get myself into. Probably the worst anime I have done this with was Loveless! I found it painful to watch. I have nothing against gay people but this was just pedophillic. Please never, ever watch this show for your sake.
Thanks has to go out AkatsukigirlTy as she was the person who got me interested in anime. Without her I would still be watching about 5hours of TV a day, now I spend all that time on my laptop doing something anime related :3~

I wasn’t really sure what to write about in my blog perhaps that’s the reason why it seems I’m dragging it out so much. I’d like to apologize also for the fact I suck at being funny so try and bear with me. So to start with below I have put my top 10 favourite anime I have watched this year(2009-2010 May) and why. I would defiantly recommend any of these anime. So here it is ~

At number 10 it’s.. .. .. ..
CODE GEASS R2~



I have picked this anime because it had a great plot, fantastic characters and wonderful music. Code Geass was my first mecha anime and definitely not my last. I’m not a huge robot fan but Code Geass did robots really well. Basically Lelouch (Main character) hated his family and wanted Japan to be Japan again. They managed to get this basic plot spread out though 2 anime (Code Geass and Code Geass R2) both of about 25 episodes. There were lots of different characters, my favourite had to be CC/C2 however you want to say it. I’m not really sure why though. I guess it was because C2 had the whole past thing going on and wore lovely clothes (My favourite was the one in the red dress~ I think that was season 1 though.) and she truly meant well. I would recommend this anime for its plot and very interesting turn of events , a definite tear jerker.
This had to be my favourite opening- World end by Flow!

KUROSHITSUJI~



I believed Kuroshitsuji deserved a place on my top 10, despite the fact it would have been a million times better if it had followed the manga.(Which is amazing by the way). Kuroshitsuji has some of the best anime characters of all time in. Sebastian Michaelis, Ciel Phantomhive and Grell Sutcliff. Grell is probably one of the funniest characters there is throughout anime. His passion for Sebastian is almost creepy, (Yes he’s a man!) The art was beautiful and all the outfits were great. I’m looking forward to cosplaying Ciel in his dress, it made him look adorable.

Fullmetal Alchemist~



Fullmetal Alchemist was an amazing anime. It made me laugh, nearly cry(I don’t normally cry at anime, not because I don’t find it emotional, because it is, I’m just an emotional vacuum). This anime made it in my top ten because of the characters and action. Unlike lots of anime the women in this show weren’t just useful for cooking, cleaning or for the fan service. The women in Fullmetal Alchemist were kickass.
Winry= Scary with a spanner.
Izumi= Plain scary however really cute when with Sig.
Riza= Good with guns (I love Riza!)
There are more women in this show but these are the main 3.

XXXHolic~



Yay for Clamp. XXXHolic is by far my favourite of their work. Partly because I dislike most of their thing but also because out of the Clamp’s I’ve seen XXXHolic is different. This anime has a funny however creepy feel to it which is really good as Clamp really only does happy girly anime.
Hmmm my favourite character would have to be Watanuki or Yuuko. Watanuki is really lean and spazzy he just makes me laugh. Can anybody’s limbs actually move like that in real life? I think not its unnatural! The art is really nice once again one of Clamp’s best shows for art.

Toradora!~



This was my first anime to watch from the trio : Shakugan no Shana and Zero no tsukaima.
So 100% defiantly my favourite. I am really disappointed though that although this is the best of the three it didn’t get a sequel. This show was good was funny and kinda irritating at the same time as you just wanted Taiga and Ryugi to hook up already and when they did it was perfect, despite the fact I didn’t support them at first. Taiga was my favourite character as she was always so moody and soooo scary for being so small! The music in this show wasn’t anything special but the opening stood pout thanks to some bright colours and funny bits, like in opening 1 where Ryugi was scraping mould from the window(yuck) I have to put this anime on my favourites for the turn of advents, the lovely couples/ lovely moments and Minorin (who by the way would look superb with a moustache!).

TEGEN TOPPA GUREN LAGANN~



This show was amazing! The art, storyline, characters and music are all perfect. I found this show heartbreaking as this was probably the first show I cried at and hilarious at the same time. TGGL did the sad bits perfectly as I am still in shock. They built up the tension then made you feel like it was all ok then BANG they crushed all your hopes and dreams in one. If you want a show full of testosterone then you’ve found one! TTGL has the manliest man ever created KAMINA!!! I won’t ruin what happened but I’m in denial. Probably my favourite moment in the show was the ‘Combine!’ bit. Big combo or what I think they said it something like 100 times!!!

Number 4 is.. .. ..
Fairy tail!



Fairy tail is a really good show that I have to say I love to pieces! The characters are all interesting, the art is good despite it looks a lot like One Piece and the music is great (it all sounds Irish!). The show is so good though because it is really sad, all the characters have an interesting and sad past that I love learning about. Apart from being sad it is also funny. The other thing that stands out to me in this show is how they have done the show to make the characters magic. What I have found is with magic comes out an anime all girly and fluffy but Fairy tail’s magic is really cool! The music in this show is always quite happy and cheerful especially the Irish theme song going on every episode when they fight or are just walking around: It always makes me giggle! This show does really nice openings and endings, but really good is that the endings are all the same art and are all based on a particular character. My favourite character is Erza closely followed by Levy. Erza is probably one of the hottest anime characters there is , she can fight really well, she has great clothes and is generally lovely. (Despite her first appearance shows her to be evil and mean.) This show is in my top ten for all the reasons I said but also because unlike with some anime I have never dreaded a single episode of Fairy tail, never gone ‘Oh no Fairy tail tonight’, every single week I have been itching for more!

Witchblade



Witchblade was a fantastic anime. It managed to prove my first impression of it wrong by about 6 episodes in. Witchblade seemed to be an ecchi show that would have women in skimpy outfits fighting each other making my eyes bleed. It was ecchi but they managed to do this rather tastefully, it wasn’t their fault they were so bare and at least we didn’t see anything unwanted! Witchblade engaged me really quickly as it had a great plot and interesting characters, because of this I could easily watch it all over again! The music was good at first however became a bit disappointing when the second opening was introduced. The first opening XTC was amazing and I loved every bit of it!

Ouran High School Host Club
At number 2!

Oh my god this was an amazing anime that left me crying at the end because I had finished it! OHHC (for short) was/still is the funniest anime I have ever watched! There were so many moments that nearly made me wet myself in laughter. One of the best was when all the boys dressed up as girls, they looked terrible! This anime never gets old I would say I have re-watched it about 8 times! This show has to be watched in dub for the many great voice actors: Vic Mignogna , Caitlin glass, Luci Christian, Todd Haberkorn, Michael tatum ect ect… However there was one voice that made me want to chop my ears of that was played by Monica Rial, she’s not a bad voice actor and the voice suited the character but it was so annoying. A massive thank you to AkatsukigirlTy for getting me into this show I don’t know what I’d be without it! Another great thing about the show was the amount of insanely hot boys! My favourite being Kaoru. Every episode the boys would wear something different and would look uber sexy in them. I liked the swimming shorts outfit the best >.< On top of the hot boys there was a reverse trap in OHHC which doesn’t happen often it’s such a shame we found out so early on!

We have finally made it to number 1 the anime that was my favourite this year was.. .. ..
Higurashi no naku koro ni kai!



Wow~! What more can I say! I have picked this anime for its countless cringy moments and amazing finale!

That’s really all I wanted to do for this blog but I felt that something else should be added! So for the last part of my blog I have put my nicknames of the cast of bleach. I used these to help me remember some of their names and believe me they helped! I still use a couple of them as I found them really catchy or in one particular case I have no respect for them so I felt I shouldn’t bother saying their name. I had lots of help from AkatsukigirlTy once again. Enjoy~

This was one of the nicknames that got lost when I learnt his real name however sometimes I do use it if I’m being lazy.

Yeah you could probably imagine why I don’t use that one. This one was thought off much later on in Bleach as well so it didn’t catch on as well.
