William (14 July 1910 – 22 March 2001)
Joseph (24 March 1911 – 18 December 2006)

Pfffff .. where should I begin with these two animating legends! I mean .. for me, they MADE television .. they invented cartoons ..
They made so much awesome cartoons which kids just have to love .. not only kids .. I still love them!
Just look at some of there most awesome stuff:

- The Flinstones

- Scooby Doo

- The Jetsons

- The Addams Family

- Tom and Jerry

- Wackey Races

- 2 Stupid Dogs

- Yogi Bear

- Cow and Chicken

- Johnny Bravo

- I am Weasel

- Dexter's Laboratory

So for me.. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, better known as Hanna-Barbera, are two animating gods who just made TV!!..
They basically made Cartoon Network didn't they? :P

It is truly and truly sad that both these legends passed away.. They made a lot of children and adults happy, in the past and still this day. Their cartoons are funny and made a lot of people laugh. Let them both Rest in Peace ... ^^

Well, this is the end of my Nostalgic Hall of Fame! I hope you guys liked it..
The only thing left to do is showing My nostalgic collection!

(30 May 1908 – 10 July 1989)

OK.. Now I talked about Winnie the Pooh .. and Walt Disney .. but wasn't there another great cartoon company?? Yeah .. that's right! Warner Bros!!

For me, and because this is the Nostalgic Hall of Fame, Warner Bros is well known for the Looney Tunes! Of course a lot of people worked on this and I love the animators but Mel Blanc is the most memorable for me.. Why you might ask? Well, because most voices, and as you know there are a lot of Looney Tunes, are done by Mel Blanc! And I mean he did a lot:

- Bugs Bunny

- Daffy Duck

- Woody Woodpecker

- Porky Pig

- Tweety

- Yosemite Sam

- Pepé Le Pew

- Sylvester

- Foghorn Leghorn

- And a LOT more!

Can you believe that? As a child, you are watching the Looney Tunes, and you see a whole lot of different characters .. and the voices come from one man?! This guy is a voice artist legend!

Well, now there are only 2 important people left .. But they can't be talked about separately, as they are one;
William Hanna and Joseph Barbera!

(5 December 1901 – 15 December 1966)

Oh boy .. this man .. where do I begin .. He made so much which made my childhood so much better, and not only mine ..

But first let's continue were I left of .. Winnie the Pooh right?

After Stephen Slessinger died, his wife continued developing the character .. But in 1961 she licensed rights to Walt Disney Productions. Since 1966 numerous animated productions has been released, including The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.. And that was the series I grew up with ..

Disney made slight changes to Slessinger's edition.

Winnie the Pooh and his friends even appeared in the Kingdom Hearts games .. That is just a pointer to show his coolness :P
--
Ok that just finished one of my childhood series I love .. But Disney of course made a lot of other memorable stuff like:
- Aladdin

- Lion King

- Beauty and the Beast

- Lady and the Tramp

- Pinocchio

- And LOTS and LOTS of more ..

I love those movies and I watched them a lot when I was a kid .. and they still are amazing .. nothing like the cartoons from the past!!

Let's move on to another great man; Mel Blanc

(25 December 1901 – 17 December 1953)

Stephen Slesinger.. for me known as a creator of comic strip characters.. After Stephen accquired US and Canadian trade right to Winnie the Pooh from A. A. Milne in the 1930s he created Winnie the Pooh's commercializations for more than 30 years..

He created the Winnie the Pooh I remember the most .. the one with the red shirt and the classic American art .. YEAH .. this one!!

But wait ... this still isn't quite right .. Is it?
Let's talk somewhat further in the next blog from Nostalgic Hall of Fame; Walt Disney

(18 January 1882 – 31 January 1956)

Alan Alexander Milne was an English author.. For me he is best known for making two books, about a boy named Christopher Robin and his bear; Edward. (ringing a bell?)

The illustrations for his books were made by Ernest Howard Shepard.

Any idea yet? .. Ok let's help ^^ The original name for the bear, Edward, was renamed to ... Winnie the Pooh.. !

The reason for A. A. Milne being in my Nostalgic Hall of Fame is because I grew up with Winnie the Pooh when I was just a little kid .. And I loved it, and I still do! When I see it I still remember everything .. I saw them like a few hundred times over ..

My parents even recorded a bunch of episodes back then on VHS (Even that is nostalgic ^_^). And apparently I saw them that much, I destroyed the tapes and I lost everything ^__^

Thank heaven and hell that we have internet now, and especially Usenet newsgroups!! I grew up with the Dutch version and that is exactly what I have ^^

But you might think; "This is nothing like he looks like in the show".
I'll tell you more about that in the next Nostalgic Hall of Fame blog; Stephen Slesinger
