...but that's OK, 'cause I got *so* much accomplished :) Behold!
Finished
Oniisama e...
Kyou no Go no Ni
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Blue Submarine no. 6
Blood+
Burn Up Excess
Yeah, that's right....that's what I call marathoning XD Also got up to date on Code Geass (watched the recaps/specials, too) & Death Note, and today found the Baby Love OVA that didn't think existed ^_^
Still undecided about Black Cat & Black Lagoon...I'm getting both on DVD and not sure if I should wait until the whole series is released to begin watching or not.....also not sure if I want to start Bokura ga Ita.....hm, decisions decisions....
Anyway, in addition to all that (you mean there's more??), I also surpassed 200 forum posts and, in a strange coincidence, added my 32nd friend on my 32nd birthday :D
Well, I think that's all to report this time.....have to finish up the laundry and maybe go back and begin to clean up some pre-'B' titles (I'm thinking .hack//Liminality for a start) before heading back out into the grind tomorrow....
Short staffed + unexpected procedural changes + new trainees + overtime every. damn. week = .....
VACATION TIME BABY!
I am sooooo friggin tired of work right now. Thankfully, I have a kind of hindsight/dumb luck and decided around the beginning of this month to take the week before my birthday off. Well, it could *not* have come at a better time, let me tell you.
However.....there is some guilt involved, as I am kinda leaving my fellow co-worker out to dry (she's the one that got that job I was interviewing a while back, for those of you keeping track :D), since they haven't filled her vacated position yet. It's not *too* bad, since she's requisitioning some help from the former holder of her job, but all the same, my birthday couldn't have come at a worse time this year...
Anyway, enough about all that. I have a week off and you know what that means.....marathon! XD I'm so close to the 'C's I can taste it, and that's officially my goal. The biggest obstacle in my way right now is Blood+.....not sure what to do on that one - I'm watching Bakakozou's version and they haven't released in *forever*.
Almost to the end of the 39 episode Brother, Dear Brother...should finish that one this weekend hopefully....I hope Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 starts picking up - I'm halfway through it and thoroughly unimpressed.
Uh, what else? Oh yeah, a new Japanese steakhouse/hibachi grill opened up near here, and my friend & I are going to check it out Monday :) Followed by our weekly anime night, of course ;)
Well, that's it for this installment. Gotta go squeeze in a few more 'B' episodes before working tomorrow...ugh....
Gonna have to be brief this time.....I'm so tired I'm having trouble typing, and that *rarely* happens to me.....
So, about the title, you may be wondering? Well, picture this: you work a normal 40 hour work week, 8 hours a day, right? Now, imagine if an extra 12 HOURS were piled on top of that. And now, imagine if that 12 HOURS extra came during a short week, sayyy....right after Memorial Day.
Get my drift? ;) I'm NOT a happy camper.
Good thing I got in a good amount of anime over the weekend, cause it looks like it'll be light going for a few days.....aaarrrrrghhhhghhhghghghghghghg
/venting complete...have a nice day :D
P.S. Death Note=wow, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040=average so far, Brother Dear Brother=intense NHK drama....ok that is all, I swear XD
.....to reject me, that is ;)
Remember that promotion I interviewed for? You know, that one I blogged about a couple of blogs back. Well, after almost a month, they finally decided. Bad news, I didn't get it. Good news, the girl I work with (same rank/title as me) did get it.
And she's already got a million and one things to do ;)
That first day when I found out, I was kinda stunned. But I told her (the one that got it), I'm disappointed that I didn't get it, but I'm happy for you, and that you got it and not someone else.
So, it's all good. I'll just wait for the next opportunity.
P.S. Watched Bokurano 5 and rewatched Darker than BLACK 1-2 last night, then started Bubblegum Crash tonight (despite the fact I'm dead tired from working overtime)...can't have a blog without anime references, right? :D
....oh, and how could I forget?? I reached the milestone (?) of 100 forum posts today!!!!!!!1111!11 W00T
Well, it's been a while, so I guess I'll put something down here. I promise no masterpiece, but hey, it's only a stupid blog, right? :D
For some reason I've really been getting fed up with work. Yeah, I know, everyone does, right? But I've been at my job for 10 years and am just finding out things I didn't know. That, and being exposed to hidden treachery and agendas on the part of management....well, it got to me just a bit. A human being can only deal with so much bullshit, right?
My friend at work hooked me on Puzzle Quest, a nifty little game that combines RPG elements with...Bejeweled?! Yes, that's right. It's quite the addicting little thing, too. PC's only got a demo for now, but I've read that the full version is coming out this summer. It's already out on the DS and PSP, but I'm not going to buy one of those just for it. It's addicting, but it's not *that* addicting...:D
Should be finishing up Witch Hunter Robin tomorrow night. It'll be interesting to see how they wrap things up. Also on the anime front, finally finished Bubblegum Crisis, then went to Burn Up W before catching up on some random "computer shows"-Bleach, Black Jack and Claymore, to be precise.
Well, that's about all I can manage for now. Had to spend "quality time" with the family today and it kinda wore me out :P
Well, it's kinda hard to believe, but Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) just keeps getting better. I'm not sure I've seen a love triangle quite like this....of course, now that I think about it, I don't know how many anime love triangles I've actually seen...the only one that comes to mind is Kimagure Orange Road....hmmmm.....
What I *do* know, however, is that the production values on the discs are pretty bad. No OP/ED translations, a horrible dub where all the characters sound like valley kids from California or something, shitty sound quality, and even the subtitles are very liberally translated...the worst example of this I can think of is when Tsukasa (one of the male leads) says "let's leave/go" (not sure how to spell the Japanese phrase, but it sounds like 'kaero ze' or something), and it's translated as "let's blow this taco stand!"....bleh...
Anyway, I think I'm done ranting about that :P On to the second part of the blog.....I have an interview tomorrow at work for a promotion....eeek! I haven't had to do an interview for two years, since the one I did to get the position I'm in now....I'm trying not to stress too hard on it, but I do wonder how big a fool I'm going to make out of myself :D
Well, I guess that's about it for this time. I do have an episode of Claymore to watch before bed, after all ;)
