Anime Relations: Fairy Tail
I had watched anime when I was younger - starting off with a common and well-known one, Pokemon! I fell in love with it and this resulted in my best friend and I dueling our Poke cards. We continued to find animes that we enjoyed passionately, such as: Yu-Gi-Oh! and Beyblade!

ThOsE aReN't AnImEs!1!!11!

I heard those comments so much in my life. One main reason of me "growing" out of anime when younger.

There was this stereotype and stereotypes always pressure you into feeling some kind of way. You either feel ashamed, guility, or disgusting. I remember some of the older kids in Primary School and they would call me weeb, which I essentially didn't know the meaning until Middle School.

I fell out of anime back then and often stumbled on Toonami between the years of 2011-2014 to peek at the shows. I remember watching Maid-Sama, Hellsing, Outlaw Star, Naruto, and etc.. I never got pulled into the loop again until 6th grade. At the time, I was about 12-years-old. I noticed throughout the year that a lot of people spoke about anime.

Around that time, I was going through the "I think I'm popular when I'm truly not" phase. It wasn't until the end of the 6th grade year, a friend recommended a show to me. Not only a show... An anime. The anime that pulled me out of the fearful cycle.

That show was Fairy Tail

I know Fairy Tail has gotten TONS of hate for being on-going, repetitive, and having a "boring and trolling" storyline - which I can agree on certain parts but because Fairy Tail, I began to explore my former love again.

From Fairy Tail, I began to re-watch OLD favorites of mine from when I was little.

It's hard to embrace your love of anime without being called a weeb, otaku, and etc.. which apparently "offends" Japan. I was constantly called those names in 7th grade and I remember doing something that I deeply regret.

If you want me to honest, the only way to embrace your love of anime is to stop giving a fuck about what people say. You have to stop caring what others think and remember how anime makes you feel. Anime helped in the long-run. It helped my mental health issues. I felt like the happiest person in the world.
