Parasyte is a popular manga that has terrorized its readers from the beginning. It also got its anime adaptation, live-action adaption as well as spin-off manga, and tribute manga. Parasyte also has influenced a lot of manga including the manga that we will discuss in this post. So, these are the 15 manga that similar to Parasyte.

Vampire Hunter D (1983)

The first entry we're going to talk about is Vampire Hunter D. Vampire Hunter D is a light novel written by Hideyuki Kikuchi. This series later got a manga adaptation in 2007 as well as an anime adaptation in 1985 and 2000.

What makes this series similar to Parasyte is that the main character named D has a talking left hand that is also known as Lefty. Lefty has many special abilities such as hypnosis and element manipulation. The relationship between him and D is like a symbiotic relationship, like Migi and Shinichi.

The only difference is that in Parasyte, humanity is dealing with monsters that could disguise themselves as humans meanwhile in Vampire Hunter D, humanity is dealing with supernatural beings such as vampires, werewolves, and demons.

Hell Teacher Nube (1993)

Hell Teacher Nube is written by Takeshi Okano and illustrated by Shou Makura. It got adapted into anime 3 years later and into live-action drama in 2014. It also got a spin-off manga in 2007 and sequels in 2014 and 2018.

The main character of both Parasyte and Hell Teacher Nube has an unnatural arm. The thing is, Shinichi his right hand could talk and shapeshift into almost anything. Nube on the other hand, his left hand could be used as an exorcist tool.

The genre of each series is also different, Parasyte is an action sci-fi horror meanwhile Hell Teacher Nube is a comedy supernatural horror. Shinichi is a high school student and Nube is an elementary school teacher.

Project ARMS (1997)

This 242-chapter manga won the Shogakukan Manga Award for the shounen category in 1999. Written by Kyoichi Nanatsuki and illustrated by Ryouji Minagawa, this series was adapted into 52 episodes of anime in 2001.

This is the manga that has a lot of similarities with Parasyte. The main character, the origin of the nanomachines, the psychology, and many more. Also, at one point in the manga, it has a dialogue that I'm pretty sure it's directed to Parasyte.

At the same time, Project ARMS is also very different from Parasyte. The action, the story, the concept, it's just different. It is much more ridiculous, insane, and crazy. The story is 3 times longer than Parasyte, with much more characters and much more depth to the characters.

Baron Gong Battle (1997)

Created by Masayuki Taguchi, the same artist who illustrated Battle Royale. The manga Battle Royale was based on the novel under the same title written by Koushun Takami. Battle Royale was also adapted into a movie in 2000 and the following sequel in 2003.

When it comes to similarities, Baron Gong Battle shares two things, the protagonist, and the monsters. The main character, Baron, has a shapeshifting left arm that could fire energy blasts, and the monsters, the Neo Humes, could shapeshift and disguise themselves as humans.

Still, the monster concept is far more different than Parasyte. Neo Humes could shapeshift their whole body into grotesque looks and they are capable of many different powers. Unlike Parasites, who could only shapeshift their head into any form with one type of weaponry, blades.

Toto (2002)

Written and illustrated by Yu-Ko Osada, this 9-chapter manga got rebooted 3 years later, with 40 chapters in total. The sad thing is, both the original and the reboot ended with a cliffhanger, without any explanation from the author.

So what's so similar between this manga and Parasyte? The thing that attaches to the main character's left arm is alive. It could consume anything and turn it into a weapon. Guns, tanks, and even a freefall tower. It's like there's unlimited space in its belly.

The major thing between Toto and Parasyte is the setting, the character, the concept, and much more. There are a lot of things that are different between this two manga. Toto is focused on rebellion meanwhile Parasyte is focused on invasion.

Otogi Matsuri (2002)

Made by Junya Inoue, the same creator who created Btooom! The manga Btooom! got adapted into anime in 2012, got its own mobile game in 2017, and got its spin-off manga in 2018 which was illustrated by Youki Itou.

The similarities between Parasyte and Otogi Matsuri are both the main character got a shapeshifting arm that consisted of different species. Both series also have a lot of violence, horror, and action for the readers.

The differences are that Parasyte is a sci-fi manga and Otogi Matsuri on the other hand is a supernatural manga. Parasyte is dealing with alien monsters meanwhile Otogi Matsuri is dealing with supernatural youkai.

D.Gray-man (2004)

Adapted into anime in 2006, games in 2007 for Nintendo DS, and light novels in 2005 written by Kaya Kizaki, this series is created by Katsura Hoshino. This series has appeared in several magazines such as Weekly Shōnen Jump, Jump Square, Jump SQ.Crown, and Jump SQ.Rise

The main character of this story has a left arm that could shapeshift into any kind of weapon to defeat the Akuma. Just like Parasyte, the arm that the main character has is an arm from a different species.

Unlike Parasyte, D.Gray-man is an action-shounen manga. In this manga, the concept is also different because the Akuma has a lot of power type. The manga is also set in the fantasy world, unlike Parasyte which is set in the real world of Japan.

Variante (2004)

This shounen manga has 19 chapters in total and was created by Iqura Sugimoto. It appeared in a Japanese magazine called Monthly Dragon Age. Translated into English in 2007 and published by CMX Manga.

The main character has a left arm that grows in size and is capable of destroying anything just like Migi from Parasyte. Her arm is hard to control and it feels like it has its mind. The main character also goes through a lot of tragic events that change her from the inside and outside.

Also, the main character is held custody by a scientific organization so they can learn more about the monsters that become a threat to humanity. Unlike Parasites, the monster in Variante is called Chimera and changes its whole body to grow large.

D.D.D. (2013)

It appeared in a Japanese magazine called Bessatsu Shounen Magazine and was created by Shinsen Tokugawa. It consisted of 14 chapters in total. It was translated into French and published by Pika in 2017.

The similarities between D.D.D. and Parasyte are the main character has an arm that could form eyes and a mouth. It is because their arm has been taken over by a separate entity that came from a different species.

The differences are in Parasyte the main character's right arm is infected by an alien. Meanwhile, in D.D.D., the main character's left arm is possessed by a demon. Parasyte is a sci-fi manga and D.D.D. is a supernatural manga.

Hamaya-kun!! (2014)

This Japanese webtoon was created by Yoshino Sakura and was serialized on Comico JP with a total of 229 chapters. The author also created another romantic webtoon called Reboot Kiss with a total of 25 chapters in 2021.

The similarities between this manga and Parasyte are that both of the main characters have the talking, living, and weird right arm. Both of them can be used as a weapon to fight the enemy. Both of also a student.

The differences between these mangas are Hamaya-kun!! is more focused on romance meanwhile, Parasyte is more focused on horror. In Hamaya-kun!!, it is about exorcising the evil spirits but in Parasyte, it's about killing the alien monsters.

Jagaaaaaan (2017)

Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, the same author who wrote As the Gods Will and Blue Lock, and illustrated by Kensuke Nishida. It was serialized in a Japanese magazine, Big Comic Spirits with 163 chapters in total.

This is the manga that referred directly to Parasyte because Parasyte was mentioned by the protagonist in the first chapter. We all know where this is going, Jagaaaaaan have shapeshifting monsters with an uncanny look similar to Parasyte.

The thing is, the monsters' looks in Jagaaaaaan are based on the person's deepest and darkest desire. It also has a lot of different abilities and powers, unlike Parasyte. It even could change shape and size.

Libidors (2018)

Consisted of 72 chapters in total and was serialized in a Japanese magazine called Weekly Young Jump, the same magazine that features Kingdom, The Climber, and Tokyo Ghoul. Libidors was written and illustrated by Masaki Kasahara.

The monsters in Libidors could turn back into their human form, just like Parasyte. Once the person got infected, the person is considered dead and will never be the same. It is infectious and could kill humanity.

Still, the monsters in Libidors are like zombies. They didn't have the same intelligence as humans. They don't talk, use tools, or even learn anything. They only know hunting, searching for the next prey to spread the disease they carry.

Shinryaku Koui (2019)

Written and illustrated by Kujirou Inuse, has 41 chapters in total, and was serialized on a Japanese manga reading website called Ura Sunday. The same website features popular manga like Mob Psycho 100 and Kengan Ashura.

In both series, the world has been visited by different species from outer space. Both protagonists have a right arm that could change into sharp blades like claws or a sword. Both protagonists are also bonded with the intelligent alien to fight the aliens.

The things that separate both of these series are in Shinryaku Koui, the aliens are not infecting the humans and turning them into hideous monsters. Instead, they look like giant animals with different capabilities.

Stage S (2022)

Serialized on Shounen Jump+, the same online manga website that features Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, and Summer Time Rendering. Created by Tomoya Harikawa and the series is still ongoing to this very day.

Interestingly, both of these series feature somewhat of a cosmic horror element in it. The enemy in both series have the grotesque look and they eat humans too. The main protagonist is a student who got a right arm that could change into a sharp blade.

Stage S is more focused on a supernatural story, unlike Parasyte which is more focused on a sci-fi story. In Stage S, there is an organization that studies, hunts, and exorcises supernatural beings. Each of the staff members of the organization has unique skills, strengths, and powers to fight.

Aliens Area (2022)

Created by Fusai Naba and is still ongoing in Weekly Shounen Jump, the magazine doesn't even need an intro. A legendary magazine that features a lot of legendary manga some of them even got a legendary anime adaptation.

Alien species is the main focus of both series. An alien disguised as a human, checked, can harm humans, checked, intelligent, checked, and a lot more to discover. Also, the main protagonist in both series could shift their right arm into any shape.

Of course, there the differences too. In Aliens Area, there are a variety of alien species, an organization that deals with the aliens like space police, a variety of high technology, and more sci-fi stuff. The main character's right arm in Aliens Area is not a living being but instead, it's a substance implanted in the brain.

So that's all folks, the 15 manga that similar to Parasyte. Do you agree or disagree? Which one of these mangas do you want to read next? Let me know what your thought in the comment section below. See you next time!

Hello! Welcome back to the Top 5 Horror Manhua That You Should Check Out. This time I will look at the best horror Manhua that you would probably like. Remember, we are talking about Manhua, the Chinese comics. Don't get confused with Manhwa, the Korean comics. Is everything clear? If so, let's start.

5. My Girlfriend is a Zombie

Faced with doomsday, the special power inside Ling Mo was woken up. He found out that he could control zombies. Therefore he could walk through the zombie crowd safe and sound using his power, and eventually he met his beloved girlfriend - Ye Lian, but only to find out that she has already been transformed into a zombie. To help Ye retreive her memories, Ling Mo started his survival in doomsday. This Manhua is so far so good, it reminds me of a game that I found at Google Play Store. The art is good, but yeah it's basically a zombie apocalypse story except the MC has a superpower and a badass mindless girlfriend as his sidekick.

4. Lord of the Mysteries

Waking up to be faced with a string of mysteries, Zhou Mingrui finds himself reincarnated as Klein Moretti in an alternate Victorian era world where he sees a world filled with machinery, cannons, dreadnoughts, airships, difference machines, as well as Potions, Divination, Hexes, Tarot Cards, Sealed Artifacts… The Light continues to shine but mystery has never gone far. If you like the story of MC trying to unravel the mystery, you would like this one. The only thing I don't like about this Manhua is the format, it's in the Webtoon format. So, if you like Webtoon, you might want to check out on this one.

3. The Last Human

This Manhua is about Zuo Tianchen, the last living human in a mutated zombie-infested city. Just when he was sure he'd died, he finds his soul returned to just before that ill-fated day ten years ago. He swears he'll protect the people important to him this time round and reunite with his past lover. I've never found any zombie story that would include two Sci-Fi elements; zombie apocalypse and time traveling. This author is genius, combining my two favorite genre and made a story using those genres. It's an unique zombie comic that would probably worth it.

2. The Law of the Yama

The story is about Zuo Hui, as he falls down to a rain-flooded sewer hole. When he awakes he finds himself in a sealed room surrounded by a group of diverse strangers and with a tightened rope around his neck. He is quickly forced to play a dice game with other people around and only the winner can leave the place. This one is for death game lovers and Webtoon lovers. The good thing about this Manhua is even though it's a Webtoon, it doesn't have so much spacing.

Dishonorable mention: Collapsing World

This Manhua is so disturbing. Even though every chapter is so short, but it will give you nightmare. The funny thing is, the Manhua also include jokes in it. So, I think the theme of this Manhua is dark comedy. In every chapter there must be a joke that would probably make you felt guilty for laughing.

1. Shen Ze

From an early age, Xu Shenze would often get caught up in the same strange dream. Over time, the dark shadow that the dream cast over his life grew, until, one day, the shadow became real, and suddenly Xu Shenze's life as he knew it was completely torn to shreds. His parents suddenly meet a gruesome end, and all sorts of other strange and disturbing events kept on happening to him. This Manhua one of the recommended horror Manhua. This Manhua has some Junji Ito's Uzumaki vibes in it, it's twisted and creepy. Also, the only thing that would made me laugh is the blood, it's purple. I recommend this one for Junji Ito fans and Webtoon fans. Also, this Manhua doesn't have so much spacing.

That's all for now. I hope you will like it. What? You want more? Okay, I give you the last one. I recommend you Under the Water and Mutated Fishes. I will come back for more recommendations. Right now, sayonara!

As a horror manga lover, I always found the best horror manga. One day I wondered, is there any worst horror manga that existed on this planet? Then, I dive into the MyAnimeList database ocean and going deeper, deeper and deeper to find the 10 horrible manga to put it in my list. I found it and let's discuss the manga one by one or click here for the TL;DR version. Anyway, let's go!

10. In the Room

In the Room is about a group of people suddenly trapped in the a mysterious place that similar to the game as known as The Room, the MMORPG game that was played by our protagonist. In that place there are monsters crawling around and they must work together or die. Well, the good thing about this manga is the art style is good and the characters are well written. But the problem is, the story isn't as good as I thought. The theme of this Manga probably could be 'survival horror' but I couldn't see any part of the manga that similar to the theme. What I've saw so far is a bunch of people discuss and sometimes, at each others throat.

9. Bougyaku no Kokekko

Okay, Bougyaku no Kokekko is just like any other zombie survival story. But, instead of zombies, we got giant chickens! Nice! What I like about this manga is everything. The art is good, the story are great, the character are the best. The concept is funny. Let's be honest, a plague of giant chicken attacking the people in the whole world. I'm pretty that this manga is a perfect April Fool prank for your friend who afraid of chickens. Plus, the gore is over the top.

8. Ningen Tokei

Ningen Tokei or in English, Human Clock is about Yubi Chizuo, a student who lives with his family in his house, which is a family shop selling watches and clocks. Well, the art style is different than others. I mean, it's really weird. But the thing that I hate the most about this manga is the story. It doesn't flow very well which making the readers got a headache. I don't care about the art style, but I care about the plot. The author tried the best but I can't get story. Between maths and this manga, I would choose maths.

7. Pandamic

Pandamic is about Tokyo suddenly attacked by people that wearing the panda costume head. I'm pretty sure that the author came up this story after playing Danganronpa, just like Neon Genesis Evangelion inspired by Devilman. The art style is simple, the story is good though, but the main problem is the character. Our main character is dumb and a simp. Can you believe it? Not only a simp but he looks like an employee who didn't take a rest. He always make the dumb decision and the idol that he simping for also dumb, she always agree with the main character. Anyway, the violence in this manga are good too.

6. An Island Named Desire

An Island Named Desire or in Japanese, Kibou no Shima is about A group of teenage boys travels to an island where it is rumored that only women live. They are all eager to lose their virginity and long story short, the island is a place of succubus-like monsters! Yay! The major problem of this manga is the story. At first, I thought the females that lived on that island are psychopaths and killing males for fun. But, I was wrong. I never thought they were a succubus-like monsters. Well, at least the gore are good.

5. The Friends-Eater Classroom

This manga is about a whole classroom students received a message about a game called Friends-Eater Game. The game is one of the students will receive a message about his/her status. If the status shows that he/she is infected, he/she must to eat his/her classmate's body part or organ to be cured. The gore in this manga is terrible and the story is kinda bumpy. The concept is good but the plot is kinda weird. The good things about this manga are the art style and the character.

4. Revenge Game

How I supposed to start this? Okay, this manga is just like the other death game without supernatural forces but the villain is just dumb. He didn't have any plans on his head, he just throw all his money to build the place for his bullies. He didn't even try to be scary and mysterious. Who the hell didn't come up with some plans to do something? Even a robber would come up with a plan. Well, at least the art style is good.

3. Delivery of the Dead

The story of this manga is some sort like a parody of the zombie stories. It's about a world where the undead can be purchased to do what ever you like. You can threat them like a doll, a maid or a prostitute. This manga never meant to be horrifying. Every chapter turns out to be hilarious. I thought something scary would coming up but then, it didn't even happen. Whatever it is, the story is good and the gore too.

2. Dead Word Puzzle

This manga is some sort like a rip-off of As the Gods Will. I mean if you compare Dead Word Puzzle and As the Gods Will, you can find the similarities even in the first chapter. What did I like about this manga is the art, the characters and of course, the gore. The gore is as extreme as As the Gods Will. The differences between these two manga are As the Gods Will using the traditional Japanese game into the horrifying supernatural death game. Meanwhile, Dead Word Puzzle using the word puzzles into the horrifying supernatural death game.

Dishonorable mention: Kyuusen no Shima

Kyuusen no Shima or in English, Hades Island is about Yuuma, who is summoned back to his home island after the death of his mother and asked to become the next head of the wealthy Nuenaki family. He has certain misgivings though and rejects the offer. However after the current head dies not a day after his arrival, he has no choice but to become involved. What I didn't like about this manga is the girls are busty. The main character also some sort like got his own harem on the island. This manga doesn't have characters variations and make you couldn't take off your eyes from the girls.

1. R402

The worst horror manga goes to R402. R402 or rather Room 402 is the room where our illustrious female main character lives. One day which seems to be by mere coincidence her fate intertwines with that of Sasamoto, a savvy man who met her in the train. If you read this manga you will found them making baby in every chapter. There's a lot of fan services and the girl is just like a milf. On the other hand, the guy is just like a dilf, never tired making baby with her. At least the art style is good.

That's all for this blog folks. Did you enjoy, which is your favorite horror manga? Let me know in the comments below. Also, follow my Instagram if you want to! That's all for now! Sayonara!

Hi! In this blog, I'm going to share with you the 5 horror Manhua that I've read recently. Before we started, I also wanted to share with you a horror Manga with the most simple title and it's called ! (Exclamation Mark). Well, it's a Manga with the most simple title that it's hard to find online, not even MAL has the synopsis of this Manga and that's... scary. I hope somebody could update the synopsis of this Manga so I could know what's the story of this Manga. Anyway, enough with the intro, let's get started!

5. Road to the End of the World

The first horror Manhua on the list is called Road to the End of the World. It's about a guy who travel through the zombie apocalypse just to save his family. If you're a zombie fan, you should read this Webtoon Manhua. Yes, a Webtoon Manhua. When I reading this Manhua for the first time, I be just like, hey, this is what a Webtoon should look like. This zombie Manhua doesn't have so much space that would give me a headache. But the reason why I put this Manhua on the last place because it just your typical zombie apocalypse story, nothing more.

4. The Cursed Sculpture

Another Webtoon Manhua that doesn't have so much space. As you can read the title, it's about Ye Limei, a student of sculpture, finds herself stalked by a resentful spirit in one of the sculptures in the boarding school. Supernatural and unstoppable events start occurring one after another... After Ye Limei discovers the secret behind the sculpture, she instead uses the power to her own advantage -- killing those she had long held a grudge against. With each bout of satisfaction, her mind slowly gets consumed by the spirit of enmity. Spooky. This horror Manhua tells a new type of story because hey, it's hard to find this kind of horror story, especially based on murder case, curse and revenge. Worth to read.

3. The Curse of Flower Town

If you like to read a comic that involve a bunch of girls getting killed by monsters and the police tried to solve the case, this Manhua is for you. The kills are gory, the monsters are terrifying and the town where they lived in are unpleasant. Every chapters will give you some spine chills and will never ever let you done reading it without giving you an image of a bloody scene. Also, yuri included.

2. Death Field

It wasn't about the field that could kill people. It's a about a bunch people that transported to the spirit world via train and meet many kind of monsters. The monsters force them to participate in the death game or they cannot leave the horrible world. The monsters are based on the strange tales from the whole world such Americans creepypastas and Japanese folklore. The kills are gruesome, the monsters are tricky and the game must be solved before time runs out. Our beloved main characters are tested both physically and mentally. Ouch.

Dishonorable Mention: Tap Water Pollution

This Manhua is a complication short horrifying stories. When I say horrifying, I mean this Manhua will twist your brain like a wet sponge. It's like the Guinea Pig got a manga adaptation. The art style and the plot is simple yet it gives you disturbance. Every freaking chapter just chop your mind with ease. Even the first chapter just made me said WTF? Plus, biology doesn't work in this horror Manhua

1. Tales of Supernatural Houses

During the early years of the Republic Era, there were many fierce and ambitious people in Shanghai. Beyond the borders of the new area and old area is the grey area. That was where many supernatural cases occurred. Anding Wang and Liujia Ma are hired by a mysterious boss to settle the cases that happen there. I really recommend this Manhua for the horror fans out there. It feels like reading a classic horror Chinese folklore but in the modern comic format. When it comes to gore, this Manhua got it right. It was so detailed that I'm pretty sure the author did some research to make it as real as possible to satisfy the readers. The kills are very very rare. I don't want to spoil it for you so you should read it right now!

Now, we're done! I hope you would enjoy the 5 Manhua that I've recommend to you. (Please don't read the dishonorable mention one because it's a messed up crap. Whatever, you guys wouldn't listen to me anyway). I also hope that you enjoy my blog and please MAL, add these Manhua to the database, pretty please. Until next time! Sayonara!
